The morning was slow and Wonho was basically out of it in every way, shape, and form. He stood in his school uniform, his hair still damp from the shower he took earlier and a cup of hot tea in his hands. He sat with one knee up, and his eyes closed as he was drifting in and out of sleep, since not even the shower really woke him up that morning. He attempted remembering what would cause him to be this tired, since he was used to this routine, and as long as he didn't break his sleep schedule too bad he shouldn't be this tired. His eyes opened a little more as he remembered the occurrences of the day before. "Shit," He groaned, realizing that he would have to face that boy again in calculus today.
He stood up looking at the clock which read 6:40, meaning he had 5 minutes to make it to the bus stop. He put up his cup quickly, sliding on his shoes at the same time. He put his bag across his shoulder and ran out, locking the door quickly behind him. His mind went over scenarios that would happen with Hyungwon (none of which ending happily, since Wonho was the type to picture the worst). He had the first lunch period, so it wouldn't be too long until he did have to face him. He decided he would just have to suck it up and see what happened when it did.
He noticed the bus turning the corner the same time he did, and luckily he was the last stop so there wasn't a large rush on the drivers shoulders. He entered the yellow vehicle with a bright smile on his face as he did everyday. Since he was the last stop, he usually ended up sitting next to someone he didn't know too well, or at all, which wasn't really a problem since Wonho had such a welcoming vibe and no one ever complained about sitting next to him.
-----"You're not sick anymore?" Kihyun asked, walking to him as he entered the school gates. Wonho shook his head and smiled. "I told you guys it was just a small fever." He wore his smile as he spoke. Kihyun smiled back and chuckled a little before he responded, "Then why are you red?"
Wonho shot a short glare before walking ahead, hearing his best friend's laugh behind him. Kihyun tended to always be the best at reading Wonho, most likely because they had known each other since elementary school. So, he could probably already tell Wonho had a small (but significant) thing for that Hyungwon boy.
His first two classes passed by with ease, mostly since he sat alone, and he actually enjoyed listening in on the topics and discussions of the class. The third class was a bit of a startle for him since Changkyun entered with the line 'Kihyun told me you like that Hyungwon boy a grade lower than you!'
"What? Shut up and sit down," Wonho said sternly, holding back a blush. In their school, you could take any class from grade level as long as you were passing the class with an A or B. That's how Changkyun, a boy three grades below them, ended up in Wonho's English class (and Changkwan was significantly better and English than most people in that class so it made since). Kihyun had a liking for the kid, so he kind of grew on Wonho as the spoke more.
At the end of the class, Changkyun had shot finger guns at Wonho and wished him good luck in English. He smiled at the younger's actions before packing his stuff and walking towards the noisy cafeteria that held his friends. He noticed his friends as he got his food. Minhyuk and Kihyun seemed to be the noisiest, per usual, while jooheon joined in occasionally while Hyunwoo sat there with his dopey smile. As he walked closer he heard Kihyun rambling on about him. Wonho cleared his throat quickly as a warning and sat down. The entire table seemed to go silent at this action. There sat like that for a moment before-
"Kihyun told us you like Hyungwon." Minhyuk blurted out, breaking the strange silence. Wonho practically already knew he had, especially since he had already told Changkyun, but he decided to play along. He looked up with an expression that came off as shocked and offended. "Never did I once tell you I liked him, plus you've never even seen me with him," he said, which was true. Kihyun rolled his eyes and glared at minhyuk. "But when you talked about him yesterday you had a sparkle in your eyes and your cheeks were flushed with embarrassment, and I could tell you were smiling under your mask! You're easier to read than a book." Kihyun said, way too proud of himself for his explanation. The corner of Wonho's mouth twitched a little playfully, since in his mind he knew it was all true. "I was sick yesterday! I was flushed from my fever and I was smiling because I really love calculus.".....
The entire table broke out with laughter, included Shownu who seemed a little down lately. 'It's good he's laughing' Wonho thought to himself, letting his motherly side reach in. Kihyun wiped fake tears from his eye before continuing. "Well sure whatever you say. Anyways," they continued with another conversation as they all finished their food. They bell rang as Wonho was standing to throw away his food. He quickly grabbed his backpack and rushed to his next class without saying goodbye, though he could hear his friends chuckling at his urgency.
Here we go, he thought over and over again as he walked to his class. He knew Hyungwon would most likely not be there this early, but he wanted to get there before the other did so he had time to apologize for his words yesterday. He planned it out during the other classes. He would apologize and then he would be able to start over with the boy. He bowed to the teacher as he entered the classroom and sat his stuff down behind the chair he knew the light-haired boy sat in. He sat silently as he watched different students file in one by one. After a few minutes of sitting with chin resting in his hands he saw a familiar head of hair walk in, and towards the seat that was empty in front of him. "Ah hey!" He began, smiling brightly with him welcoming smile. He watched Hyungwon's eyes as they met his own. "I.. I wanted to apologize f.. For y'know.. Yesterday" he stuttered as he noticed the boys mask that covered the lips that were the reason behind his apology. "Did I cause that? Seeing as I was sick yesterday," Wonho asked, quieter than his previous sentence. Hyungwon sat down in his chair and put his bag beside him, facing his back to Wonho making it seem as if he were going to be ignored, which he prepared for.
"Maybe. Or maybe I just didn't want you seeing my lips again, since they were obviously a distraction."
