Twenty
Forty
Sixty minutes pass and I'm still walking. I haven't gotten far, but far enough to get some peace and quiet. Were I in the right head space I would make sure not to go in the same direction of where we were attacked the night before, but I'm not. I'm not thinking about the two beasts that almost killed us less than 24 hours ago because my mind is busy thinking about less important things. I don't even notice the sound of the chains at all.

"Hey!"

That's not the voice of anyone I know. I look up, still a little disoriented. There's a man, looks to be in his late 40's and he's holding the two barking demons on a chain. I look around as a double check, but he's clearly calling out to me. There's no one nearby that I can put the load on, so I have no choice but to answer.

"Y-yes sir?"

He scans me from head to toe as if he were calculating something in his head. He doesn't look very happy...not at all.

"Where you the one that hit my dogs?" his voice is raspy and full of authority. I can barely make out his face but just the sound of his voice and his size is enough to terrify me.

"Uh, n-no sir, it wasn't me" well I'm not lying. I didn't touch the dogs in the slightest bit, but for some reason he doesn't appear to believe me.

"Someone saw you and another trouble maker attacking my dogs, are you sure it wasn't you?" he says again, his voice a little louder and angrier. The chains in his hands rattled and I can feel the four eyes of the beasts fixated on me, just waiting for the signal to attack.

"uhh-" If looks could kill, I'd be six feet under. My eyes dash around the area for anything or anyone that could help me, but there's nothing. Not even a leaf blowing int he wind.

"Well?"

"He didn't hit the dogs, I did"

Oh my god why are you here?

"Oh was it, well I hope you know you gave one of them a concussion, now how are you going to pay for that?"

Sungjun steps forward and suddenly I'm witnessing an intense battle of who can be a bigger smart ass. I think I know the answer to that.

"Well if I hadn't hit them, they would have killed my friend. How would you have payed for that?" he protests with his hands folded across his chest, the stubborn side of him suddenly showing. Not that I haven't seen it before, but this is different somehow. The man doesn't look at all impressed.

"Well if you hadn't came this way in the first place, you wouldn't of had to worry about that now would you?" now it's Sungjun's turn to look unimpressed. Actually, irritated would be a more accurate word. I'm not too happy with the old man either.

"It's a public street grandpa, maybe you should have better control over your pets!"

Oh no, I don't like where this is going.

"It's okay hyung, let's just go" I mutter in an attempt to get us both out of here alive, but I fail miserably. No surprise there.

"Not until this rude ahjussi apologizes"

"Okay i'll apologize" the man says dryly. That doesn't sound good at all. "I'll make sure to apologize to the cops for accidentally letting go of my dogs' leash"

I've never been in a situation like this before, but I don't have to have experience to know that this is our cue to get the hell out of here. Thankfully Sungjun gets the point and takes off running with me. I have no idea if the man really let his dogs loose or not and I wasn't going to look back to find out. Sungjun races passed me, grabbing hold of my wrist and drags me back towards the hotel. I would have rather not have to come back here yet, but didn't have much of a choice. When we finally stop running we're by the pool area, safe behind the hotel walls. Luckily Sungjun was smart enough to grab the room key and we were able to get through the gates. For a minute or two, all that can be heard is the sound of us trying to catch our breath. Mostly me. I can tell he's watching me, but I don't want to look.
