"Is everyone finally full?" Toriel asked her family sitting together at the dinner table.

"I am, mom," Asriel yawned.

Liz rubbed her eye with her wrist. "Same here. I think I'm gonna go hop into bed."

"Me too." Asriel followed after Liz who had stood out of her chair and was on her way to bed.

Toriel gave a tender smile and said to her children, "goodnight you two!"

In the hallway, Liz turned to her little brother and asked, "you have fun with Papyrus today?"

"Yea, I did!" Asriel cheered. "Did you and Sans have fun?"

"We did." Liz continued as they stopped at their neighboring doors. "We made a lot of jokes together. I could tell you some of them in the morning if you'd like."

Asriel smiled wide. "That'd be awesome-"

Liz's phone rang in her pocket and she quickly grabbed it, wondering who could've been calling at this late of an hour. Asriel took a look at the caller ID. It was Papyrus's number. Liz answered. "Hello?"

"Human!" Shouted Papyrus. "I'm worried about Sans!"

"Wait, wait. Worried about Sans?" Liz quickly grew very concerned. "Why? What's wrong?" Asriel got closer to try to listen better on the conversation.

Papyrus explained, "ever since you and him went out for breakfast this morning, he's been in his room all day! He hasn't moved an inch!"

"Well, that's not unnatural of Sans," said Liz. "He's a lazy guy, remember?"

"You don't understand!" Papyrus cried. "He's talking in his sleep!"

"Well, what's he saying?"

Papyrus's voice got quieter. "It's very strange. It's hard to make out what he's saying, but I keep hearing him say, 'Liz.'" The girl's face immediately turned bright pink. Asriel was shocked to see the sudden change in expression on her face. She was completely stunned. "Human?" Papyrus checked to see if Liz was still on the phone with him.

"Uh," Liz struggled for words. "I think you should just let him sleep, Paps."

"You don't believe me!" Papyrus assumed outright. "Here! Listen for yourself!" Papyrus then proceeded to hold the phone out to Sans's bedroom door.

When Liz heard absolutely nothing at all, she tried to get Papyrus to hold the phone back up to his head again so she could speak with him. "Papyrus?" No answer. "Papyrus..? Paps? Pappy..? Hellooo?"

"See?!" Papyrus finally spoke into the phone. "Didn't you hear?"

"Papyrus, I couldn't hear anything."

"Well, he's speaking very quietly!"

"I wish you'd do the same!" Liz raised her voice. "Papyrus, I think he's probably just very tired. You should let your big brother sleep. Okay?" And maybe Asriel and Liz could get some sleep too...

"Alright," replied Papyrus. "I trust you, human."

"Alrighty, then." Liz yawned. "Goodnight, Papyrus."

"Goodnight, human!"

Finally, Liz could hang up. The human and the goat-child looked at each other with bewildered expressions. Asgore came into the hallway and saw that his children had not gone to bed yet. He approached them both and asked, "is everything alright?"

Asriel looked up at his dad and said, "Liz got a call from Papyrus. He was worried about Sans."

"Hm?" Asgore looked to Liz for a more thorough explanation.
