It's Complicated

After hitting the snooze button a good three times, I successfully unattached myself from my bed. I hauled my dreadful butt to the bathroom, washing my face and brushing my teeth. I had a total of thirty minutes to shower, get dressed and eat breakfast before Conrad came to pick me up.

Conrad pulled up to my driveway and I slowly walked to his car. Not sure of what to expect when I do sit down. I closed the door and he started driving. One hand was on the wheel while the other one rested on the gear shift.

"I'm sorry," I finally stated.

His eyes flickered over to me, then back to the road, "I know."

"Conrad, I know that you're mad. If you did that to me I would be too. But I don't know how many times I have to apologize in order to make it right."

"Just stop."

I turned to look at him, "We can go out to eat tonight."

"Ok," he said. Really? It was that easy?

"Oh wait, actually, I have to be there for the family dinner with Nick. Tomorrow night?"

He came to an abrupt stop at a red light, "Who the hell is Nick?"

"Our new neighbor," I trailed.

"I don't like him."

"You don't know him."

"I don't like him."

The two of us walked into school and immediately, Conrad was greeted by a: "Hey golden boy."

We turned around to see Brett and the rest of his friends, slowly approaching us. Brett turned to look at me, "Hey Ana," he winked.

Both Conrad and I made a face of disgust before Conrad put a hand on Brett's shoulder and said, "Don't do that."

"Um, alright," Brett mumbled, "So I was thinking-"

I zoned out after that. However, I did see Nick walking through the halls really confused. I went up to him, "Are you lost?"

"This school is too complicated. Where the hell is Room 212?"

I chuckled, "Across the building...upstairs."

"You're joking, right," he asked disbelievingly.

"Yeah, it's right behind you," I grabbed both of his arms and turned him around, like he did to me yesterday. Lily was walking by with her friend group at this exact moment but she stopped, "Viviana, it is rather rude to not introduce me to your new friend. Especially if he's a cute guy."

I rolled my eyes, "Go to class or something."

She coughed dramatically, hinting to me to introduce her.

"Bless you," Nick said.

She gave him a look, "I didn't sneeze."

"I don't care."

She smiled, "Playing hard to get?"

"Nope," Nick pursed his lips in a straight line.

"Oh my god. Liliana, this is Nick. Nick, meet Liliana. My twin sister," I told him.

He put his hand on his chin, "You see, I saw something about you both that looked alike but I just assumed you guys were two people who happened to look similar to one another."

"Nicholas," Lily smirked, "I'll see you around."

After she left, he turned to me, "She was...something."

"Sorry about that. She thinks she's all that and she also thinks every guy is interested in her," I explained. Conrad and a bunch of our friends were beginning to crowd around Nick and I.
