When I woke up I very nearly passed out again.

He had the nerve to be here, in a hospital of all places! He leaned over me, flashing a torch into my eyes as if I was still out cold. I still couldn't move or speak. My vision seemed to cover 360 degrees and I could hear a voice corridoors away telling another nurse about the "poor little girl in ward 11". Ward 11, that was me! I zoned in on the conversation.

"What exactly happened?"

"Some kind of seizure poor love."

"Was she epileptic or something?"

"Her parents say not..."

"What's happening at the moment then?"

Two words that echoed in my skull for what seemed like a life time. Brain Dead two words that meant there was no coming back, no way to be saved. Kept alive by machines forever, or not at all.

I'M STILL HERE! I wanted to tear the sheets back and scream at the top of my voice.

My ears were pounding when I noticed the reflection in the window opposite. The dark circles under the eyes, the almost skeletal face and body, the oily back hair and dull green eyes. Who was it?

"Oh god..." I moaned inside my head. How had I got into that state? How many days had I been here?

With that, I blacked out again into my world of nightmares...
