It's quiet in the car, in a good way. No words, no music. Silence seems right. Tahiya rolls down the windows and leans her head against the door frame, listening to the wind rush by and smelling the pine trees. She watches the stars materialize, like someone is dimming the switch on the night sky so each shining dot grows brighter and brighter. In a few moments all the stars came out above the intense blackness of the earth and the great lagoon gleaming suddenly with reflected lights resembled an oval patch of night sky flung down into the hopeless and abysmal night of the wilderness.
She was seated at the back of the pick-up, Jungkook was fast asleep beside her while Jhope drove. The trio were headed to raccoon park, butterflies raging in their stomachs, they held their breaths for what was about to go down. Sanjana had called Tahiya few minutes prior, informing her that everyone had come and they were the only ones remaining.
"Hyung," Tahiya said from the back seat, "It's all becoming alright now." She says with a reassuring smile on her face. Nodding, Jhope turns the wheels to park his jeep. His gaze was fixed at what lay beyond the car windows, there stood five boys, laughing, waiting for them, for him.
Jhope needed out. The Jeep wasn't fast enough. He shut it down, grabbed the keys and started running like a bear was at his heels. He couldn't even see the guys anymore through his tears so it surprised him when Jin caught him in his arms halfway. The first thing he did was pound on his chest and asks him why he hadn't called.
There was laughter; group hugs, a few stranded tears spent, and Tahiya saw all of this through the glass windows. "Jungkook," she whispered, shaking him slightly to wake him up. "Uhh, yeah?" said he, rubbing his eyes sleepily as he sat up. "Look," she said pointing towards the reuniting group.
His eyes widened as he too thrust open the doors and bolted towards his hyungs. Their cheers could be felt and not just heard; Tahiya got goosebumps just looking at them. Climbing out the car herself, she too was attacked with a series of hugs and shrieks of her own friends.
Reunion reveals friendship potential that haven't yet been emerged in the past. The sweetness of reunion is the joy of heaven. Racoon park that night, created its special place in the pounding hearts of eleven people.
The boys built a bonfire and sat on the grass, while some lay on each other's laps. While the girls sat afar from them, each group lost in their own worlds of laughter and recounting of past memories.
"You all survived; I survived. We're all together again. I once begged the Gods to let me all of you- just be it for a moment; to see each of you and know that you all made it. Just once; that's all I ever hoped for." Jin said looking at each of them in turns and smiling.
"It's crazy how all of this turned out to be." Sanjana said glancing behind her to look at the boys, a smile tugging at her lips. "They really need each other, far more than they realize." Meagan piped up.
"I agree, but don't you guys feel this sense of great accomplishment right now watching them like this?" Tahiya asked pulling the grass from beneath her, smiling widely. "Strangely, I do. I feel content, satisfied." Cc said agreeing with her.
Laughter from behind them made them all glance back to the boy's group as the girls chuckled themselves for Yoongi had Jimin in a headlock who was struggling relentlessly.
"Guys, I know this may seem weird, and extremely retarded, but I say let's leave them here like this. I mean, if we stay, everything will just fall back like how it was, meaning, Tae would probably go back with Noona etc. If we leave them now, they will have no other option than sticking with each other, thereby they will be close like they need to." Tahiya said looking at her friends and hoping they don't start thinking of her as mental.
"In a weirdly strange way, this makes sense." Meagan said, her eyebrows scrunched in thought.
"You mean leave like never meet them again?" Sanjana asked.
"For now? Yes, that's exactly what I mean. We can meet them, but only later on, not now." Tahya says peeking a hopeful glance at her Noona who appeared to be deep in thought about this proposal.
Nodding, Cc gets up and says, "If we are going to leave, let's do it now." with a determined look on her face.
"Goodbye guys." The girls whispered into the air and departed.
