Elesis paused to take a break from the constant attacks thrown at her by the relentless nasods, sighing as she wiped her forehead with the back of her hand.

Mountains of scrap metal surrounded her, all that remained of the many nasods which had attempted to stop her progress.

Leaning heavily against her claymore, Elesis took a final bite of the Phoru Cookies she had made earlier that morning. Dusting herself off, the Blazing Heart and swung the claymore over her shoulder, it's reassuring blade resting against her collarbone.

As she continued on throughout the Nasod Foundry she found herself walking through massive corridors, and it was as she was walking through one of these that she walked into a white-haired man.

"Who are you?!" Elesis demanded, her claymore gripped in her hand as she prepared for a possible fight.

"Who are you?!" the man exclaimed at the same time, the nasod machinery that hovered around him began to whirr, and it spiralled in a circle around the space in front of him; the tips of the metal cases began to spark with blue light.

The man's eyes were a stunning shade of purple, and a faint pink scar zig-zagged under his right eye.

He narrowed his eyes.

Elesis glared at him, and felt the familiar rush as flames began to spiral around her; twining themselves through her hair and around her claymore.

Before either could say anything else, they leapt at each other.

Elesis swung her sword forward; he used his nasods to block the attack but was surprised as she disappeared and reappeared behind him, continuing to pepper him with attacks and leaving no time for him to counter-attack. It was a move that she had perfected not long ago; Blazing Dance.

She soon flipped backwards and held her palm out to summon Fire Wall. A barricade of flames appeared in front of her, spiralling in a massive tornado which would reduce anyone that was not resistant to fire to cinders.

The man leapt back from the flames, his eyes glowing faintly.

He faced his palm forwards, and his nasods began to hammer multiple beams of light at Elesis. Thanking her agility, Elesis ducked and rolled around the beams, although one managed to graze her sword arm.

They both glared defiantly at each other and attacked once again.

"Ancient Fire!" Elesis commanded, plunging her sword into the ground. The air around her stirred, and a whirlwind of flames and destruction whirled around her.

"Apocalypse!" The man also demanded his nasods. Seemingly from nowhere, a holographic cube appeared. The man smirked and leapt up but stopped falling back down; standing on what appeared to be a glowing purple circle.

Elesis growled. She wouldn't let him get his way.

Her Ancient Fire and his purple Rubix Cube collided; the cube flickering slightly. Suddenly, both exploded; leaving stars swirling in Elesis' vision.

Both the man and Elesis were flung onto opposite sides of the corridor and groaned.

Elesis took in a laboured breath and quickly checked to make sure nothing was broken.

She prodded her left side and almost screamed at the corresponding pain; she had obviously broken a rib or two. Sighing, she pulled out a potion she had gotten from the alchemists and was relieved as she felt her bruises and scratches heal, although her side still felt tender.

She quickly held her fingers to her lips and let out a shrill whistle.

A beam of light appeared in front of her before fading away, leaving none other than her crimson fox, Ember.

"Hey, Ember." Elesis greeted tiredly, scratching the curious fox behind the ears. "Do you think you can give me a ride over there?" she pointed in the direction the explosion had thrown the man, planning to make sure he was dead.

The fox nodded, dipping her head so that Elesis could climb onto her back.

As soon as Elesis was settled, the fox darted off in  the direction Elesis had pointed, pausing when they came to a pile of rubble on top of which slumped an unconscious man, whom Elesis identified as the one she had duelled.

As she clambered down from on top of Ember, the man rolled over; his silvery-white hair covering his forehead and his right eye.

Elesis felt a blush appear on her face as she studied him closely, before sighing for what felt like the hundredth time that day.

"It looks like we'll have to take this guy in as a prisoner until he wakes up, eh, Ember?" Elesis stated reluctantly, her red eyes darting around to make sure there weren't any nasods around before dragging the man towards Ember. She easily tossed him over Ember's back and climbed on behind him so that he wouldn't fall off as they rode.

"Let's go."
