I moved a piece of hair from her face and watched her as she slept. I couldn't help but to notice how beautiful she was. From the bags under eyes, I could tell that she works extremely hard and never got much rest. She stirred slightly, opened her eyes, jumped up and screamed. I chuckled lightly.
"Where the hell am I ?" She yelled then held her head and fell back down on the bed.
"You might want to take it easy" I laughed. She glared at me.
"Listen, there's Tylenol and a bottled water in the bathroom. Take that and come to the kitchen. There's also a new toothbrush, rags, female bodywash, towels, and I bought clothes for you to wear with some shoes and also bra and panties." I said as I watched her look at me like I had two heads. She finally stood up with her hand on her head.
"Where's the bathroom ?" She asked.
"Down the hall to the left." I said messing with her. She bulged her eyes at me and I laughed.
"I'm kidding. It's right there to the left." I pointed. She nodded and walked in, locking the door.
I was fixing her plate when I heard her come in the kitchen.
"Goodmorning. You look beautiful" I said smiling. She looked at me then sat at the bar and put her head down. I slid her plate to her with a large cup of coffee.
"Thanks" she mumbled. I watched her as she ate. I guess she could feel me staring at me.
"What ?" She said.
"Nothing." I said nonchalantly. I wanted to drill her with questions but decided against it. She drunk her coffee and looked at me. I guess we're having a staring contest. This time I asked the question.
"What ?" I asked mimicking her. She rolled her eyes and sipped her coffee.
"How did I get here ? Where's Ramone ? How do you know what size I am ? Do you even know my name ? What happened last night ? And why is the room spinning" she asked. I laughed so hard that I almost spit out my coffee.
"Okay. First, I brung you to my house after you passed out last night at the club. Ramone cussed me out for letting you hit the floor and told me to take care of you or die. When I laid you down, your tag was out and I looked at and saw what size you wore. Your name is Monique. Last night, you got so drunk that you passed out after I was tryna sit you down because you bumped into me. Again. Ramone saw what happened and ran over going off on me. He asked who I was and I explained that I remembered you from our run ins with each other and he started going on and on. Long story short, he threatened me and said to face time him when I brought you here so he can know you were still alive." I said. Her face held a look of embarrassment.
"I'm so sorry. I normally don't get drunk but that was my first out in a long time and I was trying to have fun." She said.
"It's cool monique" I said getting her plate and putting it in the dishwasher.
"I'm so embarrassed. I don't want you getting a bad impression of me. I don't act that way. I'm a very classy woman honey that carries herself with a great amount of dignity." She said. I smiled at her, grabbed her hands, and looked her in the eyes.
"Look Monique. You don't have to explain yourself to me. I already know you're a woman that has respect for herself. If I felt that you didn't have respect for yourself, I'd probably have left you sprawled out on the floor. Because of the woman you are, I couldn't let you embarrass yourself like that and jeopardize your company. Plus I think you're very beautiful." I said. She started blushing and slowly took her hands away.
"Thanks. And I'm sorry I can't stop bumping into you." She said laughing. I guess she was using humor to lighten the mood.
"It's okay. Maybe it's a sign that you should actually give me your number." I said laughing. She shook her head and started laughing.
"I did say that I was going to give you my number." She said laughing.
"Give me your phone so I can program my number. It's in your clutch." I said because she was about to get frantic. She unlocked her phone then gave it to me so I could program my number. I programmed my number and gave her back her phone.
"Okay so are you taking me home or are you going to hold me hostage." She asked.
"Nah. I'll take you home. You ready ?" I asked. She nodded.
"Okay let's go." I said grabbing my keys. We got in the car, she gave me directions, and we were off. We laughed the entire way to her house. She's funny as hell.
"Well we're here." I said pulling into her driveway.
"Thanks for the ride and not letting me make a complete fool of myself. I owe ya one." She said smiling. I started thinking then a lightbulb came on.
"You can thank me by going out with me next Saturday night." I said.
"Umm" she said kind of skeptical.
"Come on. I won't do anything to put you in danger. With me you're always safe" I said. She thought about it for a second.
"Okay sure." She said. I jumped for joy inwardly.
"Okay. Saturday night at eight. Dress comfortably." I said.
"Okay. See you saturday" I said. She got out and I waited until she got into the house. She was working the hell out of that maxi dress. I'd have to thank my sister later. I was starting to really like her. I don't know though because my past run ins with females have not been a great one. Hopefully, this ones different.
