"Good morning Ms. Scott" Marissa said when I walked past her desk. I smiled at her. Even though we're friends she still respects me as her boss.
"Good morning marissa" I said. I walked in my office and immediately got to work. I checked emails, voicemails, did paperwork, and scheduled meetings. I know I told Marissa and Ramone that I'd take it easy, but I have a new business venture I'm pursuing. I'm in the beginning stages but I feel as though in six months I'll be done. I drank my coffee as I went over these ideas for the new shelters. From what I'm seeing this is gonna take a lot of work. My phone rang and I answered trying to sound professional.
"Hello Monique Scott speaking." I said.
"Good morning ms. Scott. This Is Ron from Wright Brothers construction company calling about your future plans with us." He said.
"Oh yes. Listen come by my office around five and we'll discuss it then. I have several plans for the building." I said.
"Yes ma'am. I'm not going to be able to meet with you today so I'm sending my brother instead. Is that fine ?" He asked.
"Yes sir that's quite fine. Tell him to be here at five promptly not a minute late." I said firmly.
"Yes ma'am of course." He said.
"Thank you very much. Have a great day" I said hanging up.
He probably thought I was being a bit bitchy, but I don't care. When you're a woman in a male dominated world, you have to be a bit bitchy and tough. Especially when you're beating them at their own game. All I know is whoever this is better have his ass here at five promptly or he'll really see a bitch. I drank my coffee and finished my work.Leonard P.O.V
"Lenny I need you to go to Scott's Enterprises and meet with Ms. Scott today at five promptly." My business partner/older brother said as I was going over some designs for this new McDonalds.
"Okay. I'll be there." I said.
"Please be on time because that lady sure meant business. I'd hate to piss her off." He said leaning in the door of my office.
"I'm gonna be there when I get there. If I'm late then I'm late." I said. I'm normally on time to meetings and stuff.I pulled up to Scott's Enterprises around five thirty. I wasn't late intentionally. A meeting ran over time and I completely forgot about the time. I quickly rushed into the building and went to her floor. I stopped at her secretary's desk
"Hello I'm looking for ms. scott's office ?" I asked politely.
"Do you have an appointment ?" She asked.
"Yes. I'm with Wright Brothers Construction Company." I said.
"Looks like you went over your time. You might want to reschedule." She said. Bullshit. I'm not going no where. Ion care if she was mad or not. She wanted a meeting so she got her damn meeting.
"Can you please ask her to meet with me ? I just came from another meeting and it ran over time." I said trying to be nice.
"Okaay. I'll call her."she said. She called then hung up.
"Go down that hallway, make a right at the boardroom and her office is at the very end. Good luck hun." She said trying to hide her laughter.
"What's funny ?" I asked getting irritated.
"Nothing. It's just that she doesn't like when people are late and chile she turns into the devil when you're late. And you might want to hurry to her office." She said. I nodded my head and headed to her office.
When I got to her office, I prepared for the worst. I knocked and heard her say come in. She had her chair turned toward her computer so I couldn't see her face.
"Good afternoon ms.scott." I said nicely
"You're late." She said bluntly. Her voice sounded very familiar.
"I'm sorry ma'am. I had another meeting tha-" she cut me off.
"I don't like when people are late and your excuse is nothing but a dignified lie. When I do business I do it in decency and in order. Don't let it happen again. Understood ?" She said in a stern voice. I was taken aback because only woman that talked to me like that was my mother. I wanted to cuss the rude bitch out but decided against it.
"Yes ma'am it won't happen again." I said.
"Good now let's get down to business." she said turning around. When she turned around I looked at her closely.
"Monique ?" I said. She looked up and gasped.
