Aren't you happy when you get out of high school? There's no more mean girls, no more rumors about people, no more sick gossip around the school.
I grew up in a small town and my high school was very small, it was about 400 students in the entire school and believe me i had a hard time and I'm glad I'm out of that black hole of destruction. Today was the first day of the rest of my life and I cant mess this up. No distraction.
With the last box of my stuff, I walking to the fully packed car. To be honest I'm scared, really scared. I'm more than two hours away from home, I'll miss my old friends, I'll miss my family, my old life.
"I'll miss you mom," I said embraced in my mothers arms.
"Now Aurora, you can't ruin your body in college, you won't always have that body of yours," my mother says wiping the tears away from her eyes, smearing the bit of mascara she had left. She has been cry all day. When I woke up this morning i found her sound asleep in my bed, my dad literally had to pick her up to get her out of my room for me to get ready.
"Mom I wont ruin it, I'll try not to gain the 'freshman 15'. And plus this college has a gym and I can work off all the things I eat"I take a look in her sad but very happy hazel eyes.
My dad comes out of the open garage,"I don't care what she eats Lauren, as long as she is safe. Speaking of keeping you safe I packed pepper spray in your purse, so if anything happens you spray them in the face."
"Dad I won't need that, this college has 5 stars on their security rating. I'll be fine anyway because you won't find me in a shady place," I give my dad a reassuring look.
"I love you guy, I'll visit at the end of September, maybe around my birthday. And dad I'll keep the pepper spray so you'll have a piece of mind. And mom, no more crying. Alright?" I go back for another warm huge from my parents.
''I hope you keep it on you at all time darling, I don't want anyone taking advantage of you, do you remember those moves i taught you last week?"my dad gives me a sturn glare.
"Yes dad remember" a smile starts to sped across my face has i remember my dad tell me if a guy tries to come at me, kick him in his golden spot.
"Baby girl please make sure you check the your mail because you check will be in coming in in the next couple of days. And we will send you a check once a month so don't go crazy," my mom says as she walk me to the car.
"I will keep a look out on the check,"I laugh at my moms corny humor.
I go in for another hug from my parents, taking in every second as it passes. "I love you guys, but i have to be going. I want to get a good parking space and i want to get there before it gets dark."
"I love you to," may parents say in unison.
As I climb into my bright yellow Volkswagen Bug and start the engine, my parents close the trunk of m car and then close the drive side door as soon as i was surely in the car. When I pull out the drive way I give a strong wave to parents. I turn on my radio and let the music take over as I drive to my new life.

When I got to my room it was empty so I started bringing my things up. Once i had everything in my new room I was eager to find out my new roommate, she hadn't showed up in the dorm when I was done unpacking. When I was done making up my bed I grabbed my laptop and looked at my schedule over and over till it was instilled in my brain. My always had said its always good to be prepared.
Right when I was checking my Twitter, I heard the door being opened and a tall girl came in.
"I'm guessing your my roommate," i say closing my laptop.
"Your Aurora right?" the girl says
"Yeah and you are?" I question.
"Shit. I'm sorry, it's Olivia. Sorry i came in so late, my parents wanted to take me out to eat before they left for their plane," she says as she puts, I'm guessing left overs, in the mini fridge.
"Oh no, your fine. The reason i begged my parents to let me drive myself up here because if they would have came here they would have never left," I laugh to myself.
"Oh my gosh, your parents are like that, no offence," she laughs getting some shorts and a worn out shirt to change into.
"Not offended at all, sometime my parents can even get fucking worse worse than that," I look away from to look out the window to give her a slight bit of privacy i can offer.
"Hey, would you like to join me and my friends for some coffee? Its at this nice coffee shop outside the campus, Aurora I'm talking about that shit is better than Starbucks," she says pulling down her shirt.
"Wow, that sound really good, I'm in," she she squeals in excitement.
I feel like Olivia and i will be really good friend.
