Mrs. Rivera: How was Florida sweetie?
Haze: It was great mom, they have the best seafood. The beach is pretty cool too. The girls and I have been invited back to Shannon's for a beach party.
Mrs. Rivera: That sounds like fun baby. Now get to school. Today is signing day and reveal day. I don't want you to be late.
Haze: Alright *grabs her bag and leaves*
This day was a very important day to the girls. It was college signing day at Booker T, also the Salutatorian and Valedictorian would be announced. Hazel was excited and anxious. As she made her way to the school her heart began to beat faster and faster. Once she got there she met up with the girls and they all went to their class. To them it seemed like first period couldn't go by any faster. After literally forty five minutes first period was over and it was time for the main events.
Students: *talking*
Ms. King: Settle down everyone. We will now be announcing the Salutatorian and the Valedictorian for this year. Which will be brought to you by your principal. Mr. Hayes??
Mr. H: *steps up to the podium* Hello mighty Bulldogs. Most importantly hello to the class of 2016.
Students: *cheering*
Mr. H: These past few months here at Booker T have been action packed and "lit".
Students: *laughing*
Mr. H: I am super proud of you all and I expect nothing but great things from you all in the future. Now...lets get down to business. This year we were fortunate to have two Salutatorians and two Valedictorians.
Students: *cheering*
Mr. H: Here's a slight introduction to your Salutatorians. These two particular ladies are no strangers to Booker T. One is sassy and the other is sweet. They are both very classy and never trashy. They both have GPAs of 5.2 and they will both be attending Norfolk State University on a full ride scholarship. One is a Criminal Justice major and the other one is a Pre-Pharmacy major. And they are your new Salutatorians. Give a warm welcome to Miss Ashleigh Sadler and Miss Naomi Williams!
Students: *cheering*
Ash&Na: *stand next to the podium*
Mr. H: Now...our Valedictorians are no strangers either. They set trends in the fashion world and the academic world. Now these girls have GPAs of
5.3. These two will be attending Hampton University on full ride scholarships as well. You have your Pre-Law major and your Biology major. Please give a big big hand to Miss Shania Patterson and Miss Hazel Rivera!Students: *cheering*
Sha&Ha: *stand next to Ashleigh and Naomi*
Mr. H: I am so proud of you four. *looking at the girls* you came in this school year and did what you had to do to be successful. I wish you four nothing but success in this world. There will be times when people will try and stand in your way and try and block your dreams. But I'm here to tell you four and all of you. YOU ALL ARE ABOVE THE HATERS AND DRAMA AND YOU WILL! YOU WILL! BE GREAT! SOMEONE STANDS IN YOUR WAY BRUSH PASS THEM AND TELL THEM TO PUT SOME RESPECK ON YOUR NAME AND YOUR DEGREE AND YOUR PAYCHECK!!! YOU ALL ARE SUPERIOR TO FAILURE!!! YALL GOT THIS!!!!
Students: *cheering wildly*
Brief but empowering, Mr. Hayes' speech was so well needed. The girls took his words and absorbed them like a sponge. After that speech the senior class of Booker T signed their college commitment papers and had a whole day to themselves. It was like a fair, but it was strictly educational with a splash of fun. Everything was going fine until Naomi received a weird text message.
Naomi: *looks at her phone*
Shania: What's up Nae?
Naomi: My mom said that we all need to go to the clubhouse and not to go straight home.
Haze: Did she say why?
Naomi: Not one stinking hint.
Ash: Weird. All I know is...I didn't do it.
Now school was over and the girls had to head home...curious and nervous. Of course the ride back to Gramercy Park was a little awkward, but to the girls they weren't so much on edge. Well...Ashleigh was. The other three were fine. When they made their way home they did as instructed and went straight to the clubhouse. They were given a surprise party. All of their family and friends were there to congratulate them on their success. It warmed the girls' hearts to know that so many people believed in them and wanted them to be great in life. The girls were on cloud nine. After the last piece of cake was cut, the last balloon was popped and the last hoorah was given the girls were beat. As the weeks go by the girls are counting down the days to graduation. They are getting closer and closer to the end of high school and they could smell freedom miles and miles away. Now...time for some fun. Prom!
