Derek's POV
Ignoring all the red lights flashing off in my head as I continued to walk towards the table of two. My steps faltered slightly as I neared them but I continued nevertheless. When I reached the cream booth backed up in the corner of the slightly empty cafe, I noticed that the man had taken his hands off of hers, possibly during my walk to him, and had his head facing the window beside them which gave a clear view of the streets outside.
From where I stood I could see only a few of his features and from what I could see he was a lot older than I had expected, probably in his early 50's. However he still a body that looked like he used to or probably still worked out. His muscles slightly straining against his short, black sleeved shirt made me promise myself not to piss him off, ever. Spikes of grey hair sprung out of his head, beginning to cover up his short, brown hair. Dark, chocolate skin with a few dark spots covered his skin. Before I could examine him any longer, the movement of his elbow made me snap out of my thoughts.
I finally decided to make my presence known by clearing my throat lightly causing the man's head to shoot up as he turned to look up at me and although I noticed the curiosity that sparked in his eyes, it was when I took a glance at Jane's direction to see her tense at the sound of my voice that I became nervous.
"Can I help you?" the man asked with confusion laced in his voice which was backed with a slight English accent.
"Um yeah sorry but I just have to talk to her" I answered nodding my head in her direction.
"I don't think so and I think if you knew what was good for you, you would leave." Emphasizing on the last part as he turned to actually look me in the eye. Before I even dared to speak his orbs flashed with recognition, shock and finally anger.
He stood to his feet instantly and soon after his fist collided with my face. I stumbled back after that from pure shock due to the fact that I didn't expect it. Having no recover, I felt him grab me by the collar and drag me towards the back door, completely ignoring the pleas of Jane and leaving behind a few stunned customers.
After passing through the door he immediately shoved against the wall and growled, "What are you doing here James? I thought we told you to stay away. I swear I will call-"
"Wait wait, I'm here to make things right" I said, trying to sound as sorry as I could.
He chose to ignore me and pulled me closer to his fuming face, "Stay away from her or else I won't bother to ask again" he said and let me go roughly.
He turned to open the door and by the time I turned to that direction, he had grabbed Jane by her arm as the door shut stopping me from seeing further. Clutching onto my jaw I let out a frustrated sigh. I felt his wrath was only the beginning of what was to come.
