I walk outside and towards the bus,hoping Michel's friends won't see me,not that I can't take them down. Well what do you know,there they are coming straight towards me,yay.Not. "Hey new kid,I heard you beet up my friend!"one of them says. "So..."I say. "So your going down!"he says. He's just like Michel,too slow. I take his flying fist and twist it behind his back,managing to kick him in the sign during the process. "Jake!"the other guy yells. He flinches when I look at him. "Come on we have to get on the bus Carlos."Jake says getting up. "Tomorrow you die!"he says getting on the bus. I decide to just walk,I don't really wanna get on the bus anymore. I walk into town, and head to little outdoor café.
I order something to drink,and sit down. "Here you go."the waiter says setting my drink on the table. I look at my phone,no text messages. Doesn't surprise me,it costs a fortune for long distance texts.
"Oh my gosh,I'm so sorry,here let me help!"a girl yells accidentally walking into the waiter,making him drop everything. But that's not just any girl...that's Candie! I nearly tip the table over getting out of my seat. I run over,but she spots me in the corner of her eye,darting off. I'm not letting her get away this time. I follow her,running faster than I ever have. "NOO!!"I yell jumping on top of her. "AHH get off of me!"she yells turning over. I see her face again and my heart stops,it's been so long since we've been face to face. "I'm sorry!I'm really sorry,you'll never forgive me! I'm sorry!"she says balling. I feel bad,but I'm still angry. "Candid calm down, what happened?"I ask. "I cant tell you,you'll never forgive me.I'm a terrible person!"she sobs,guilt written on her face. What did she do? "Candie,I cant stay mad at you forever."I say getting up,pulling her off the ground.
She sniffles calming down. "I've been working for Justin."
"WHAT.WHY?HOW LONG?!"I exclaim. "It hasn't always been this way,when I met you at the mall I really liked you,alot.But then Justin found out and he-he..."she starts crying again. "He has my family held captive and if I don't do what he says he'll kill them!"she yells. "Candie,I-"I start. "Liam it was me!I set the house on fire!It was me!"she yells sobbing into her hands. "Who knows how many orphans I killed! I'm such a terrible person."she cries. "You didn't kill anybody."I say. "Nobody?"she looks up. One is injured,but that's all."I say. She sighs. "Why did you run away?" I ask. "Why do you think? I couldn't stay there and lie to everybody,so I flew to Paris,but how could I possibly stay in the City of Love when the one I love is gonna hate me if I was ever to see him again."she says. "What about your family?"I ask. "Justin wont kill them unless he knows where I am. He wants me to watch them die."she says tears pouring out of her eyes. I wrap my arms around her,as she cries into my shoulder. "Candid,I'm never going to leave you again." I whisper. "But Li-"she starts. "No Candie,you need me."I say. "But what about the boys,they need you."she says."You need me more."I say.
"I love you."I whisper. "I love you too."she whispers back.
We sit there for what seems like forever. "I have to go now."I say. She realeases me and looks down."When can we talk again?"she says. "Can you come to school tommorow?"I ask. "Maybe."she smiles. "Bye Liam."she says walking away. "Bye Candie,I love you."I say. "I love you too."I can hear her say from the distance. I don't know what I'm going to do now,stay,leave,or what.
I walk the rest of the way home,I don't mind since everything here is so beautiful. I walk down the driveway,Robert and Liliana are playing catch in the front yard. "Hey Liam!"they cheer. "Hi guys."I say. "Think fast!"Robert says throwing the ball at me. Luckily I catch it,throwing it back at him. "Hay!Not so hard!"he laughs. I laugh and walk inside up to my room,throwing my bag on the floor and running back downstairs when I smell dinner. "Hungry?"Launien asks. "YES!"I say sitting down. "Come in for dinner."She yells. We all gather around the table and eat,and I.Am.Hungry!
