"Babe I have a surprise for you," Chloe said excitedly, rolling up to Beca with a gift bag.

"Aww what's the occasion?" Beca asked, taking the bag from her.

"Oh you'll see, just open it!"

Beca opened the bag to see a brand new softball glove inside. "Aww Chloe that's sweet, but you know I suck at sports."

"Well I'm gonna teach you this time," Chloe said excitedly. "The girls are at school and we have nothing to do today. I want to surprise Ivy when she gets home from school."

"Alright," Beca agreed. She followed Chloe outside to the backyard. "I don't even know how to play catch, I'm hopeless."

"No you're not," Chloe said. "So put the glove on."

"Which hand does it go on?"

"You're a lefty so it goes on your right hand. You have to make sure your fingers are in the right place too and that it's tight enough."

"Oh ok I got it!" Beca said. "How do I throw?"

Chloe smiled. "See, you're doing great. This part is hard for me because I can't use my legs, but you have to step forward with your right foot and point your right elbow where....ugh you're not getting any of this are you?" Chloe sighed. "I just can't explain it like I can show you."

"Aww baby, it's not your fault, I just can't comprehend it." Beca smiled. "I'm so proud of you for wanting to do this."

Chloe smiled back at her. "I think I can figure out a way. Just stand sideways. Beca stood as Chloe told her and chloe continued. "Ok I have no clue how to explain this so I'm just gonna have to move your arms for you. She moved Beca's left hand behind her and positioned it up. "So my coach always told me this part was like taking the ball off of the shelf. And then you point your right elbow to where you want to throw it, so in this case you're aiming towards the tree over there. Then you're gonna bring the ball forward and then you have it!"

Beca smiled excitedly. "I got it!" She threw the ball and it landed right where it was supposed to. "Oh my gosh Chlo you're an amazing coach!"

"Aww babe you're so talented," Chloe replied. "I love you so much," she said, giving her a kiss.

"I love you too," Beca replied.

They played catch for a few minutes before Chloe got an idea. "I'm gonna teach you how to bat!" She went to the garage and got a helmet, a bat, and the tee before going back to the backyard. "Okay so this is my old helmet an- oh shit I'm sorry, this new chair is awful, I have like no control over where I'm going." Chloe had just bumped into Beca and she felt awful.

"Aww it's ok babe," Beca replied. "It's not you're fault. I'm fine anyway. Are you struggling a lot with the new chair?"

"Yeah," Chloe said with a sigh. "It's so much harder to get around and I feel so much less independent with it. I want my old chair back."

"How about tomorrow we go back to the shop and get it downgraded," Beca smiled sympathetically. "I had a feeling you'd want your old chair back. It made you more independent."

"Thanks Becs," Chloe said with a small smile. "Ok so when you're batting, you stand the same way you would if you were throwing."

"Oh ok," Beca said.

"Oh hey lemme try to hit one," Chloe said, putting the ball on the tee. She picked up the bat and took a deep breath. "This could either go really badly or really well," she said with a laugh. She swung the bat and the ball made it all the way to the other end of the yard.
