Annabeth woke up with the early morning sun
peeking through the window. Her alarm clock buzzed in her ear. She turned it off and went through her early morning schedule from last year. She got up and dressed, then went to get breakfast. Percy was already in the kitchen cooking. The sweet smell of pancakes filled the air. When they were ready, Percy placed them onto a plate and set them down in front of her. The pancakes were blue- and a poor attempt of making them into the shape of an owl. "Sorry for snoring last night." He apologized. Annabeth looked at him with false sympathy.
"Oh you know. This is only the thousandth time you've had to move to the living room and then made blue owl pancakes as an apology. Sorry, I mean tried to make blue owl pancakes."
"Yeah, I still can't get the head right." He said.
"You still can't get anything right." She responded as she helped herself to a stack of the strangely colored pancakes. Percy didn't mind the criticism. Annabeth had made fun of him ever since he got to camp. Now it was more like a running joke. They both finished getting ready and got in the car to go too school.
