-After A Long Walk-
"ICE CREAM!!!!" All of the kids ran towards the parking lot after begging their parents if they could have some money for the ice cream truck.
"Aunt Hailey," my niece called after me. "Can I have a dollar for an ice cream cone?"
"Sure, Khloe." I couldn't help but give her a dollar because she is so innocent when she asks for things. Especially when her mom is off running around with Samantha down at the beach area and Khloe has no one to play with. Elizabeth preferred me to be the one looking after Khloe out of all of the adults here for an odd reason. She thought was the mature one out of the other adults.
"Thank you so much, Aunt Hailey! You're the best!"
Yeah, I've kind of gotten use to that since all of my nieces and nephews go to me for something they want if their parents don't let them. Of course, I have to make sure with their parents and sometimes tell them no because I'm not loaded with cash you know!
Other than the kids begging me for things, the adults here at the bridal shower are very nice and polite to me and everybody else. Some couples got to me though because you could tell that they were acting nice, but didn't really want to at all. Other than the little group of rude people, everybody appreciates my work.
"The decorations are amazing! How long did it take everybody to put them up, Hailey?"
"Um... Yeah, nobody helped me. I did the work, Sam."
"Oh! Are you okay, Sweetie? How come nobody helped you?"
"Yes, I am fine, Sam. You don't have to worry about me. Though technically, that's not true. Josh gave me a big hand along with Khloe." I said as I gave Khloe, who was sitting on the ground right next to me, an appreciation hug.
"Wow! I would've expected more than two people to have put this whole scenery together!"
"Hey! You could make it two and a half people just to be nice, you know," Khloe yelled from the warm blacktop she was sitting on.
"Fine, make it three people then just so you won't bother me about it later on. Now are you happy," Samantha managed to get her words through all of her giggles.
"As long as you let me pet that big puppy over there, Aunt Sam!"
"Okay, okay. A deal is a deal though! You have to shake on it!" This time Samantha almost fell to the floor laughing but kept good control of herself. She didn't want to get her beautiful outfit messed up! With her Steve Madden Wedges, a V-neck romper by Guess, and magnificent, glittering jewelry by Coach.
After the two shook on their deal, Samantha thanked me for all the hard work I had put into the party and told me to go have fun while I could as she went along to thank her fiancé, Josh. As I walked around, I was thinking a little. He had nowhere else to be other than here, and there were no other guys except for Samantha's uncle who was busy watching the rest of the other kids. Oh well, if he wants to leave and go rest at the fire department he can. Samantha will let him go and no one else will hold him back, or at least not this girl.
