Life is crazy isn't it? It's so hard to get over someone, but how easy it is to fall for them all over again. It doesn't make any sense to me. You spend all this time convincing yourself that you're better off without them and how you're gonna find someone better. You become so convinced that you practice a speech just to say to them so they will know that you've moved on to better things. But you wanna know the craziest part? It's all a waste of time and energy! The moment you see that person, it's all gonna go downhill. First, you'll keep sneaking glances across the room to see if they're looking at you too. Then if they even glance towards your direction, you quickly look away and pretend to be fascinated by the closest person or object. After you're sure they aren't looking anymore, you start doing things to try to catch their attention. You'll flip your hair around and try to smile that one award winning smile we all have so they'll see what they're missing out on. Then when you finally get close enough, you try to act uninterested in talking to them or even act like you don't see them by turning your head in the opposite direction or keeping your eyes fixated on your phone. You keep chanting your "Sorry, I've moved on" speech over and over again in your head for motivation while secretly hoping they say something to you so you can break they're heart. But suddenly, the person smiles and starts talking to you and you find yourself smiling like a child on Christmas morning and giggling like what they are saying is the funniest thing you've ever heard. Before long, you're outside asking them why they hugged everyone except you. Then when they hug you, you can't help but notice how good they smell, how much you missed being wrapped in those arms, and how perfect y'all fit together. You realize how well mannered they are towards you and your family and how much their family likes you. You think to yourself, Why did I ever let them go? Before you go your separate ways, you get their new contact information and start planning what you're gonna say when you text them. The rest of the night, you keep reliving the day over and over again, hoping that this is a new, clean start between you. You text them and y'all have one or two simple text conversations per day. But you don't mind. You're too infatuated with thoughts of y'all getting back together. Eventually, they stop texting you. You start to wonder that maybe you were in over your head to think that y'all would get back together and maybe you should actually move on this time. You imagine y'all going out to dinner and to the movies and just hanging around watching Netflix and chilling. Finally, you decide to take a break from relationships altogether and focus on yourself for a while. But you know deep down that as soon as that person texts or calls you, everything you planned to do will disappear and you'll be back on Cloud nine. Oh, isn't life crazy.......
