Tokyo Ghoul: Forbidden Light

Awake

I wake up on a couch. I look around and see a whole bunch of people I'm not familiar with.

"What happened?" I ask.

"You fell out." Touka says. " Heh... You really are like Kaneki."

"What do you mean? Why did I fall out?"

"You didn't eat anything. You'd think that a person who wants to live would eat."

The inside of my mouth tastes metallic. That could only mean one thing...

"Don't tell me..." The shock and realization as to what went on causes me to trail off, not even finishing my sentence.

A tall older looking man walks in from another room.

"It was the only way." He says. "Who knows what would've happened if you had stayed that way..."

I can accept the fact that there was no other option. I can accept the fact that they tried to help me but... I can't accept the fact that I ate human flesh. That...that just doesn't sound right to me. It sounds...disturbing...

"Ok... Can I just...lay down for a little longer?" I ask.

"Do whatever makes you feel better." As he is about to walk away, he turns back around and says one more thing "And don't forget that we'll be willing to offer our assistance at any time."

I take the blanket closest to me and hide myself under it.

"Tch... Get over yourself..." Touka says.

Everyone else seems to have left except for one person. I lift the blanket a little bit to see who it is. It's who I thought it would be... Kaneki.

"Hey, Kaneki?" I say, sensing the unsteadiness in my voice.

"Yeah?" 

"You forgive me, right?"

"Yeah...I do."

"Thank you...Kaneki..."

Kaneki stands there for a second with a worried look on his face but then slowly turns and leaves. 

I'm glad that he forgives me. I'm pretty sure that not many people out there would have.
