Chapter 3

Chapter Three: Present: Third person point of view

Rose Hathaway was leaning against the wall of a tomb while she was trying to catch her breath from being choked by Klaus. She rubbed her hand gently over her stomach, hoping that her unborn child is safe from harm. Rose didn't bother looking at either of the brothers nor Haley. She was still in shock at the moment. Her brown eyes slowly edged their way up to the shocked faces of Klaus, Elijah, and Haley. But Haley's face held some jealously.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Demanded Klaus, as he violently ran his hand through his light brownish blond hair, as he started pacing up and down the rows or tombs. He was shocked that she kept something like this from him, but on the other hand, he knew that he broke her heart when he cheated on her with Haley.

Rose looked into his blue eyes, trying to gain the courage to tell him. "I was going to, but I didn't have the courage to say to you, since you said your type of vampires couldn't get pregnant. I panicked when I found out that I was pregnant, and I wanted to know how it was possible. So it would have been easier to tell you."

"Do you know how it is possible?" asked Elijah, as he moved away from Haley.

Rose smiled at him, before answering, "Well there are some theories that my friends and I have talked about, but nothing is set in stone."

"What are some of your theories?" asked Klaus, as he folded his arms. He was trying to hide his anger. He was angry that Rose kept this a secret from him, but on the other hand, he was happy that he was going to have a child with the one person that he loves. He never really told anyone but when he first met her he was already too taken with her. He didn't know whether it was from her sarcasm or her sense of loyalty.

Rose sighed and looked at Klaus in the eyes before she quickly glanced at Haley and back at him. "I think this is a discussion that should happen somewhere private."

Klaus looked at Haley then at Rose. He noticed that there was some tension between the two of them. He just hoped that they could get over it soon since both of them are having his children. He looked at Rose and then said, "She's safe. She won't tell what you are to anyone else as seeing she will have to be careful to whom she talks too."

Rose sighed and ran a hand through the strands of brown hair that fell out of her ponytail. "One theory that I have is because I'm shadow-kissed, and my genes changed. The second theory is that your kind always ever been with a human or a vampire, but never have been with someone of my kind, so no one knows if the two types together can reproduce."

"I guess that they can be two logical theories," muttered Klaus as he ran his hand through his hair. A lot of thoughts were going through his head. Is possible that Rose got pregnant from being shadow-kissed? Did she get pregnant by a stroke of luck? Or was there a different reason why she was able to get pregnant by him. These were the main thoughts that were currently going through his head.

"I'm so lost," said Haley, as she looked at Rose then Klaus. She now knows that there was a different type of vampires out there then the originals. She was surprised that she didn't feel that there was another vampire nearby. "So you're a vampire, but you're a different kind of vampire then the originals."

"Yes," said Rose, as she got more comfortable on the ground. She looked at Haley, and then she quickly looked at the two brothers. She noticed that Klaus was staring at her, or more precisely her stomach. Elijah was looking at her fondly, they had quite the friendship since she moved to Mystic Falls. "I'm a dhampir. I'm half human and half Moroi. Moroi are living breathing vampires that consume small amount of blood a day without kill humans. They can use one of the five elements; water, fire, air, earth, and spirit. Dhampirs protect the Moroi from the Strigoi. Strigoi are undead vampires that kill Moroi and dhampirs for their blood, since it makes them stronger. Strigoi are cruel, evil, and are monsters. There are only three ways that you can kill a Strigoi; decapitation, setting them on fire, and shoving a silver stake charmed with the four elements."
