Chapter 13

The next few days have been fairly calm. Vincent and I have been blossoming in our relationship. He had been coming home with me after my shift ever since.

2:35 A.M.

I sat bored at my desk. I silently played with a pencil while turning back and forth on my chair. Vincent sat atop the desk toying with one of the old cameras and an old animatronic part. Thunder rumbled outside the restaurant and rain could be heard hitting the roof. There wasn't a single movement of the animatronics all throughout the night so far which was odd.

There was a massive flash of lightning that illuminated all throughout the halls followed by a ground shaking wave of thunder. The lights flickered out and the tablet showed that all the cameras were out. I dropped the pencil and looked at Vincent. He looked at me and dropped what he was doing and climbed off the desk. He grabbed one of the flashlights and told me that he'd be right back. I grabbed a flashlight for myself and turned it on. I shone it toward the door.

Nothing.

I sighed a sigh of relief. Vincent came back in.

"Bad news," he said. "We don't have any electricity."

Great.

"What do we do about the animatronics?" I asked.

"Well, you know that they don't like bright lights and we have plenty of flashlights."

At that instant, I had an idea. I grabbed every single light source we had in the room and turned it on. I faced one towards the doorway in case there were any animatronic encounters.

"There!" I sat back down. "Problem solved." He smiled and sat next to me. "You mean one problem solved." I then heard a faint noise.

The music box.

5:30 A.M.

The whole night was filled with keeping the animatronics and that stupid puppet out of the office. Foxy and the puppet weren't as easy to fool. Needless to say, we almost died on too many occasions.

Once the shift was officially over, we got the hell out of that restaurant and headed towards home. Once there, I dropped everything and kicked my shoes off. I went upstairs and changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Vincent and I climbed into bed. I curled up next to him. He wrapped his arms around me and we both fell asleep instantly.
