Wondering and guessing, and a little running.

We were rushed to the hospital soon after, my sister falling in and out of consciences, me screaming for the ambulance to drive faster, because my sister was all I had and she was dying right in front of my eyes and I couldn't do anything about it, I had been fine once we go there only a minor cut that required some stitches to the nape of my neck and I had been let go and told to take care of myself, I ran down the hospital hallways looking for any glimpse of sister. The drunk man was near the circulation desk telling the police how "sorry" he was and how he had been at party and never knew how drunk he was. The hell? I didn't care how fucking sorry he was or how he didn't realize, my sister was probably  dying somewhere on an operating table and all they were going to do was tell me that he was sorry, and how bad it was and was going to be, and how he should have never driven. Like I didn't already fucking know that?? My anger was bottling up inside each time the man would look my way. I started running again even before the police finished talking to me, I had to find my sister, and I didn't care who are what I had to go through. She was all I had, and I couldn't lose her.

I ran, and ran for what seemed like a marathon, until I heard someone call out my name. "Alison." The voice said, I turned around to see a nurse coming towards me, "why are you running child?!
"My.. My. My sister, Kelly. I need to find her." I said choking back tears. "She's in surgery right now honey." She said quietly bringing me in for a big, gentle hug. "So, so, she's not....." I said in a dry whisper. "No honey, and as soon as she's out I'll make sure before even the doctors get to see her, you'll see her." She smiled at me, it was the most genuine smile I had ever seen besides Kelly's.
