It was a warm summer night, my sister Kelly and I had been driving to go the movies, we loved doing things like this, we loved spending time together, it was all we had. Our parents had been killed in a fatal car crash, so Kelly had picked up the slack and dropped out of high school to be a waitress to make ends meet for us, and for me to be able to stay in school. It was such a nice night, the warm breeze flowing through the car, Kelly laughing at the corny jokes that the radio host would say, the music was up loud just how we liked it...... Then suddenly, it happened again, this time it was us, a car was speeding from behind we were told and rear-ended us at ninety miles an hour, he was drunk we were told, he would been ten years in prison we were told.... That didn't matter to me, he could have spent a lifetime in prison for all I cared, Kelly told me not think that way, she always saw the good in people. But I didn't, there wasn't anything good about him, he has paralyzed my sister from the neck down, altering her life forever, while me, I only had a huge scar going down the back of my neck for the rest of my life... Kelly would never walk again, and I couldn't bear to listen to her saying she forgave him.
