As we continued to sit in total and utter silence, I couldn't help but steal a quick glance at Dominic every once in a while, only to be caught by him and having to look away. Iowa only looked between us two and sighed, not having anything to say to us.

The food that Dominic made for us was amazing. He said it was some kind of Italian dish that his mom would make for him whenever he would leave for a short period of time.

I usually don't eat Italian food other than spaghetti or pasta but this dish is stupefyingly good!

"Um Dominic, this food is really good like you have to share the recipe with me one day." Iowa said, finally breaking the awkward silence.

I nodded agreeing with her. "Yeah, my mom would love to know how to cook this because I know how she is with food she's never heard of."

Dominic chuckled, shrugging, "Thanks, and I make my food different from the way my mom makes hers. So if anybody could teach you, it'll most likely be her."

I finished up my food first and placed my plate in the sink to wash it off. Once I was finished, I dried my hands and went to the game room to watch some tv.

The game room was the second biggest room in the house. The first is the kitchen. I stepped inside the game room, looking around, pretty shocked to see how thoroughly clean it is.

Hmm, that's a first.

The gaming systems were packed neatly on the shelf beside the tv, alongside the controllers.

Maybe I should play a game.

I hooked up the playstation 4 into the tv and put one of my favorite games into it.

"Call of Duty?"

I turned around to see Dominic leaned up against the door, slowly making his way towards me. I smiled and looked down, pulling a loose strand from my messy bun behind my ear. "Yeah, it's my favorite game. Can't blame a girl for liking shooting games, right?"

He smiled, displaying those dimples I've grown so fond of. "No I guess I can't."

"You wanna play?" I asked, wiggling the second controller in my hand.

"Sure why not." He sat down beside me and took the controller out of my hand. "But just to warn you, I don't play fair nor easy."

I rolled my eyes at that. I mean who doesn't play fair or easy? "Okay fine whatever. The same goes for you, I'm quite good at this soo..."

I turned towards Dominic who had a smirk on his handsome face. "We'll see about that Ryler."

15 minutes later...

"Hey! Stop shooting my zombies! You got your own to handle up the stairs."

"Maybe I want the ones downstairs."

"Well you can't always get what you want Ryler."

I turned towards Dominic to give him a menacing scowl when all of a sudden I was being eaten by a zombie.

"What the HELL!" I threw my controller on the other side of the couch and got up to stand in front of Dominic, crossing my arms over my chest.

Dominic just leaned back and looked me up and down, smiling. "What? It's not my fault you got eaten by one of your zombies. Should've been paying more attention."

My eye begin to twitch and I started to tap my foot on the floor. "My fault? It was your fault. Maybe if you were upstairs fighting your damn zombies, I wouldn't have died."

"Really," he said, arching his brow and crossing his arms over his chest, "it's my fault that you were too busy looking at me instead of the game because you were pissed at me for trying to help you out."

"Yes! What part of 'it's your fault' did you not understand?" I moved to sit down again but tripped on Dominic's shoe and landed on top of him, awkwardly. My hand was gripping something big and at first I didn't know what it was until Dominic moaned and groaned at the same time.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh! I'm sorry!" I exclaimed, removing my hand from his groin, trying to sit up, only to fall on top of him again, inwardly smacking myself in the face for this embarrassing moment.

"What are you kids doing down here?" Olivia came down the steps with an amused facial expression on her face.

I ripped myself away from Dominic so fast, I ended up on the floor. "Um nothing... we were just playing a game." I smiled, heat rising up from my neck and reaching my face.

She raised an eyebrow, squinting at the two of us, "Mhmm, sure... I came in to tell you guys that since you won't be catching the train anytime soon, I have some covers for you guys to sleep with."

I gawked at her, surprised and scared at the same time. "How'd you know?"

She laughed shaking her head, "Honey, I already told you I notice and picked up a few things plus why else would he be here with you?" She pointed towards Dominic who was just sitting down quietly, appearing lost in his thoughts.

"It could be for a school project." Shrugging my shoulders, I stood up and took the blankets from her arms and placed it on the couch.

"He's not in high school."

"How do you know that?"

Olivia sighed and turned towards Dominic. "Sweetie, how old are you?"

"20."

She turned towards me and raised an eyebrow, giving me a face that read, 'is that all the proof you need.'

I rolled my eyes, feeling defeated. "Okay fine, but please don't tell my mom. I'm trying to surprise her before christmas."

Olivia nodded, "I won't but if anything happens, I'll cover for you."

I ran towards her and gave her a hug. "Thank you thank you thank you! I owe you so much!

"Actually, you can do me one favor."

I pulled away, "What is it?"

"Take Iowa with you, but only for a few hours. She doesn't have to get on the train with you, but just take her outside of the house for a while. I'd really appreciate it." She placed both of her hands on my shoulder and squeezed them.

"Okay I will." I smiled, watching as she pulled away from me and walked away, closing the door behind her.
