When I got home, I looked over at the previous-empty house, that was empty just yesterday. Now there are people living thing there? Huh, weird. As I looked at the house, I saw a familiar car pull up to the house.
Where had I seen this car?
Just then, came the blonde boy that offered me a ride home on Friday. I knew my Mom would make me take a 'welcome basket' to them sometime or another, so Jed find out sooner or later.
Too soon to speak. My mom came in and handed me a basket, "Dear, take this to the new neighbor's house and welcome them."
I did a three-finger solute and walked out of the door to give the basket to my new neighbors. As I walked there, I went through it to find: a small box of tea, cookies wrapped in plastic wrap, and a vanilla scented candle.
I walked to the door, slowly. Before I could knock, Jason came out, "Following me home, sunshine?"
I folded my arms, "No. As a matter of fact, I live over there," I said pointing to my house.
"Well. That means, I can drive you home more."
"Hmpph. Can I speak to your parents?"
"Already wanting to meet my parents, sunshine? I figured, you were the type to take it slow." He said cockily.
"Jason, we're not dating. My name is not sunshine. I would like to speak to your parents to give them a welcome basket."
"I would like to think so. Your name is sunshine, now. In that case, MOM! DAD! OUR NEW NEIGHBOR IS HERE."
I would like to think so.
I would like to think so.
What does that mean?
Before I thought about what he said, Mr. and Mrs. Terrell were at the door.
"Hi! What might your name be, young lady?"
"My name is Charlie Civil, I live over there. My Mother told me to bring you a welcome basket."
"Well, Charlie, I'm Amanda Terrell; this is my husband, Levi Terrell. And my son, which you've met already, Jason Terrell."
"Yes. Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Terrell. I already know your son, were in the same grade."
"Oh, well. I see to it you two will get along then." Mrs. Terrell stated.
"Yes, ma'am. He already offered me a ride home tomorrow. But I just came by to gibe you this basket and I'll be on my way."
"Tell your mother I said thank you. Charlie, would you and your family like to have dinner with us tonight?"
"Uhm, me and my brothers have to do our homework, but I'll see after?"
"Yes, Charlie. Please, call me Amanda." Amanda suggested.
"Alright, what time will your dinner start?" I wondered.
"Around 6, 6: 30. I'll see you then."
"Yes, ma'am. Bye!" I yelled walking away.
I turned around to see Jason staring at my butt. Really?! Typical teenage boy.
When I got inside, I told Mom at 6- 6: 30 we'd be having dinner with the Terrells.'
Of course, she asked me, "Is there a certain time; or just a time range?"
