Harry's POV
"Mr. Murphy, I don't want those guys getting in trouble. It didn't bother me, really. I'm used to that type of stuff."
Lauren looked at me. She had a look in her eyes that I couldn't read.
"Mr. Styles, bullying of any sort is not tolerated here. Those boys must be punished or I would be setting a bad example. As for you, Ms. Donell, you're suspended for 2 days. Don't bother coming to school tomorrow or Thursday. I'll have your teachers e-mail you your work. Have a nice day you two."
"Yes sir. You too." She spoke softly. I could hear the hurt in her voice.
"Lo, I'll take the bus home. You don't have to worry about me. Looks like you have a lot going on." I said. As I was turning and walking off, she grabbed my wrist.
"No, it's fine. The car is this way. Come on." She pointed out in front of her so we kept walking straight. It was quite silent until we reached the car. It was a black Nissan 350 Z. She unlocked the doors and we both climbed in. "Nice car." I said lamely.
"Thanks." She had started driving without even asking me where I lived.
"You aren't gonna ask me where my home is?" I questioned.
"No. Not really." She said calmly.
"Do you already know?" I wondered what she had going on.
"No. Not really." She said again.
What is up with this girl?
"Are you going to tell me what's going on?"
"No. Not really."
"Will y-"
"Harry! Enough!" She laughed as she realized how many questions I had asked and how many I had planned to ask.
Moments of silence had passed and I still hadn't had a clue as to where Lauren was taking me. The next sign of location read "Powder Springs Georgia."
"Lauren, where are you taking me? I should've been home hours ago."
"Harry, will you just ride. Please? We'll be there in a bit!" And with that, there were no more word shared between us. That's until an Ed Sheeran song came on.
I found your hair band on my bedroom floor
The only evidence that you'd been here before
And I don't get waves of missing you anymore
They're more like tsunami tides in my eyes
I could hear Lauren singing the lyrics. Her voice was beautiful.
"Lo, I didn't know you could sing."
"Harry, there's a lot you don't know about me. And there's a lot I don't know about you. So I guess we gotta stick together for a while until we actually know each other, eh? But we're here. So get out of the car!"
"Wow!" Was all I could say as I took in my surroundings.
