Chapter 4: Shea Tinley

Shea Tinely watched in slow motion as the very delicate beaker she was mixing for the doctor hit the ground right as red alert was engaged after the entail shock had rocked the ship. She rushed over to the beaker, grey hands rushing to retrieve the shattered glass from the floor below. Because she was a Cardassian, most of the officers were a bit stand offish and the doctor was no exception.

"Shea!" She roars, "What did you do?! I told you to be careful with that solution."

Jeez Shea thought You would think she would have noticed the floor shaking and red lights.

"Come," said the doctor; her red messy bun falling down to the nape of her neck. "We must prepare incase of injuries."

Shea hurriedly grabbed the pieces of demolished glass and threw them in a recirculating waste dispenser. Fixing her hair, the doctor walked into her office and flicked out her lightpad. It displayed that the ship had been hit with an unknown weapon and red alert had been engaged quickly thereafter.

Taking out her own lightpad, Shea went to the central group chat which included every member of the crew and scanned the lines of texts that came from around the ship. Shea looked for any reports of what happened and saw that someone else was asking as well. She clicked on his profile picture to see who he was and saw a reptilian boy that looked not much older than herself named Jake Lieberman the Fourth.

Shea closed that application and opened to the chart of the ship's systems. Structural integrity was at 45% and weapons were fully engaged. When the engineers at Star Fleet were reimagining this new, perfect ship. They decided to go back to the basics and reinvent the old shield plating that was used before shields.

Because of this ingenious discovery, the Utopia was fully equipped with the newest in plating, shield, and cloaking technology.

Just then, the first batch of wounded arrived. And Shea nearly puked.
