Elizabeth's POV

Drip...drop...drip...drop...

It happened during one of those unusual days when rain would actually fall from the sky in this city. Of course, the people above decided to hold a funeral the day I had to walk home from work.  Public transportation ceased because of...something. In truth, I was never cut out to be an engineer. But that's alright. A far bigger adventure laid ahead beyond messy electoral equipment and angry clients who "unknowingly" splashed water onto plugs and claimed they bought faulty products.

Dear Diary,

Today was like any other day. My cat decided to go do its business everywhere except where she was supposed to. I spent hours trying to get rid of the smell, using everything from Febreeze to cheap perfume. Yeah...the two didn't mix well and I ended up having to step outside my apartment and spend two long hours in the coffee shop downstairs, waiting for the putrid odor to flow out of the windows. Be it fate or what not but that's where I bumped into him. Literally. Sean Matthews. The richest, most good looking, and infamous mafia lord the world has ever had the pleasure of knowing. Did I mention that he was also sarcastic, arrogant, and bipolar? Yeah...our meeting followed by a tragic occurrence went something like this...

I just got my coffee when I turned around and walked straight into the chest of you-know-who. Brown hot liquid splattered onto an expensive looking white shirt and my heart sunk just thinking of the cost it would take to replace it.

Sean's POV

Red. All I saw was bright, hot fiery red. How dare someone bump into me?! And spill coffee onto my new Armani shirt?! I swear I'm going to dismember this pathetic excuse of a--

"I'm so sorry sir. I wasn't watching where I was going."

I looked up and saw a waterfall of luscious brunette hair. As it shook slightly, I realized that it's owners was trembling, unmoving from her bowing position. She seemed unaware of the steaming liquid that was splashed on her  cheap looking blouse.

To be honest, I felt guilty seeing her terrified figure apologizing when it should be me

To be honest, I felt guilty seeing her terrified figure apologizing when it should be me. Clearly, I have no peripheral vision and am uncapable of texting and walking at the same time. I was brought back to reality when I felt a tissue being dabbed on the stain. I looked down and saw shaking hands trying to repair the damage. I grabbed both of her wrists and would've sworn I heard her heart stop beating. My breath hitched as I saw her mesmerizing bright emerald eyes.

"I sincerely apologize sir. Please excuse my-"

I cut her off.

"$875. Then we can both put this behind us."

Her eyes widened.

"Sir I don't have that kind of money-"

Her cell phone rang and I saw a very familiar number: 312-762-1625.

"Excuse me for a moment please."

She. Fumbled with her phone and nearly dropped it.

"Hello? Who is this?"

"Darling, I'm sure that you know me. By now, I thought that we were closer than that. Rather, I'm quite offended by the question."

"M-Marcus? How did you get my number? What do you want?"

"Easy darling. One question at a time. How did I get your number? I have my ways. You should be used to that by now. What do I want? Well that one's easy. Your acceptance to my proposal. It's been a month."

"I told you. We're over. Go ask one of your other sluts to marry you. You and I both know that I'm not half as beautiful or intelligent as any if them."

"Is that a hint of jealously I heard? Never mind that. I don't think you understood my correctly. Say yes or say goodbye to that annoyingly talkative sister of yours. Here...why don't you say hello..."

"...what are you-"

"ELIZABETH!"

"Lea? LEA! Can you hear me?!"

"ELIZABETH! HELP ME! THEY'RE GONNA KILL ME- OH GOD SAVE ME LIZZY!!!"

Tears were streaming down her face by now.

"Hang on Lea! I'm gonna get you as soon as possible!"

"Elizabeth help me ple-"

He hung up.

"NO! LEA! LEA!!!"
