Alex's POV

I absentmindedly stared at the email in front of my phone, distracted by the smiling girl in my peripherals. She had bags under her emerald eyes that masked the pain she was feeling deep inside. Her presence mesmerized me...her scent allured me... What was this girl doing to me? I was brought out of my thoughts when Darren's shadow hovered over me.

"Yes?" I asked, clearing my throat.

"Mr. Valenchino is here sir."

"With the girl?"

"I'm not sure of that sir. He just appeared with two of his bodyguards."

I felt Elizabeth's worried glance and gave her a small nod of assurance.

"Check for any weapons and tell him to come in."

"Yes sir."

Darren walked back and repeated my instructions with Michael. He nodded and they stepped outside.

"A...Alex?"

I turned towards Elizabeth, who was now standing up.

"Yes?"

"W...will Lea be ok?"

I nodded. If only she knew...

"What a pleasant surprise. I had no idea you knew Mr. Fox, Ms. Elizabeth. Is this who you dumped me for?"

I turned around and found myself eye to eye with the devil.

"Mr. Valenchino...I don't believe that you should be talking to Ms. Elizabeth like that. Do I need to remind you of your place here?" I warned.

I saw Elizabeth shaking form the corner in my eye, and it infuriated me.

"Mr. Fox...might I ask why you have my doll all cooped up here? I would like her back-"

"I believe I asked for you to bring Ms. Lea here."

A wave of darkness flashed in his eyes from me cutting him off. He snickered and waved for one of his bodyguards.

"Fetch the little pet."

I felt a brush of wind pass me and before I knew it, Elizabeth's brunette hair flashed in front of my eyes.

"How DARE you call my little sister a LITTLE PET?! YOU ARE A DISGRACE YOU FU-"

A loud smack echoed through the room and Elizabeth ended up on the floor, clutching her face in pain. A wave of anger flashed through my eyes.

"Mr. Valenchino...this is not how we do business. I do believe that you owe Ms. Elizabeth a VERY sincere apology...," I growled.

He snickered and brushed his hands on his suit.

"You know me Mr. Fox. I never apologize to ANYONE."

With that, I pulled out the gun that was sitting a little too comfortably in my suit jacket, pointing it at the bastard's forehead.

"It would be wise to start now...Mr. Valenchino...," I growled.

His smirk disappeared and was replaced by a frown. He slowly stepped back and gestured at one of his body guards, who walked out of the room, walking back in with a screaming and kicking brunette. Her clothes were messed up and wrinkled and Elizabeth scampered off the floor towards her sister, only to be held back by one of Marcus' bodyguards.

"LEA! LET ME GO YOU FILTHY MONSTER!" Elizabeth screamed.

She kicked and screaming, desperately clawing at the bodyguard, trying to get to her baby sister.

"MARCUS. LET HER GO IMMEDIATELY," I ordered, my voice booming through the room.

Darren and Michael immediately pulled the bodyguard away from Elizabeth, who rushed towards her baby sister, pulling Lea away from the man who Darren held at gunpoint. I nodded towards him. Darren slowly put down the gun and escorted Elizabeth and Lea out of the room.  I stared into Marcus' rage filled eyes and smirked, cockily putting my gun back into my jacket.

"Just you wait...I'll get you back for that one day...," he growled.

I shook my head and nodded at Michael, who pulled the trigger. Within seconds, Marcus and his two bodyguards laid on the floor, surrounded by a pool of blood.

"Get the housekeepers."
