The long silence is what put me on edge. Not knowing the outcome is the worst part about anything you want and have to make sure you can have it. I just couldn't understand why I can't do this. But this could go either way, especially with Bow with me.

The silence in the sleek hallway was going to send me over the edge if she kept us here much longer. I wanted to get back to her as soon as I could, I needed to make sure she was okay, I stole a glance at Bow, he seemed completely unfazed by all this. His mixed eyes were calm and his face wore that of boredom.

"Bow, how can you just sit there so calm?" I hissed under my breath,

"How can you be so freaked out, Lucas?" he laughed.

I stood up quickly, not enjoying the fact that he was so relaxed at the chance to lose her again. "Bow, I'm not laughin' and you shouldn't be either. This is serious."

I was just about the storm off when the office door opened.

"Thank you for having this meeting today." She thanked the man who was keeping us from talking, a business partner from the Guardians

He took one look at me and Bow in our Jeans and boots, not liking what he saw.

"Thanks you for you time Irina, I'll be sure we talk more. Good day."

The man hurried away from us, seeming scared by how we dressed. Turning to wave at Irina. As she waved back she turned to look at us, a sleek brown eye brow raised.

"Hi mom..." I whisperd.

"Hey momma." Bow greeted my mother.

Her dark red eyes softened a she looked at us and I assumed our mud stained cloth. She shook her head and took a step back, inviting us into her black and white office. She shut the door as me and Bow entered her office and took our seats on the opposite side of her desk like her client do when they are here. She took her seat across from us, her long Auburn hair put into a ponytail and her long pale leg thrown over her other on. She sat staring at us for a minute. She did this whenever any of us would show up to her place of employment.

She smiled as she opened her Ruby red lips, "Lucas, what are you doing here and why do you look like you've been playing in the pig pins, again?"

"We had a long night last night." my voice was so quiet, and not because I was nervous about the answer, which I was, it's because my mother is not someone to double cross. Even if she is the most loving mother anyone could want.

"Oh, ya know, just decided to drop in and see you. Because we missed you."

Her smile grew bigger as she looked between us. She could tell Bow meant it, but the wheels were turning in her head.

"That's lovely, Bow. But I know that's a load of cow pie. Why are you two really here and why does it look like you did something to make me and your father upset?"

Her smile was so sweet, but her eyes looked calm and cool, not a good sign.

"Well, I just came along, ask Lucas what he wanted." Bow giggled.

I whipped my head towards him. My eyes narrowed as he shrugged his shoulders. Sighing, I knew I was just going to have to tell her.

"WE wanted to know..." I trailed off.

Mother's smile started to fade as she say me try to talk.

"We have an issue... Someone is... We need some money... "

Mother's face turned to stone, "Why don't you just spit it out, Lucas. I don't like my time wasted with pointless issues. Even if they are from my own sons."
