As soon as I got in I shut the door and slid down, my back leaning against it for support. I thanked the gods my roommate wasn't in.

My roommate: Remember that friend I was telling you about (the one that convinced me to dye my hair blue). Yeah, this was her. Sixth year in university and she was the only friend I actually made and even that was by default. The only reason we became friends was because we've shared a room for three years.

She was the complete opposite of me. Where she was loud and outgoing I was shy and timid. She wore dark colours, like reds and purples and dark blues and blacks whereas I wore pastel colours like pinks and lavenders and baby blues. Her side of the room was messy; clothes hanging over the chair, papers scattered all over the desk, pizza boxes shoved under the bed, posters of bands and artists plastered to every available space on the wall.

My side was just plain and boring. My bed was made neatly and the clothes I had were all packed away in my dresser or on my body. The only sign that my side of the room was actually inhabited was the small picture frame I had of my sister and I on our last day of high school, just after graduation, perched on one corner of my desk.

With a long, sigh I got up from the floor and flung my bag onto my chair. I thankfully, had no assignments that needed my immediate attention. So I got out my laptop and opened up a new Power-point document; time to do another slide show.

Yes, I made slide shows in my spare time.

I decided to make this theme 'Travel'.

First I started googling picture of all the places I wanted to go. I spent an hour on google looking for the best pictures. Just as I started organising them into categories I heard a knock on the door. With a sigh I got up, thinking it was my roommate who probably forgot her key. It's really quite easy to do so, I know, I've done it countless times. I unlocked the door and stepped back to let her in.

It was not my roommate behind the door.

It was none other than,

"Little Devil!" I gasped.

"What?" He said, looking at me confusedly.

"Sorry, I don't know your name so I've gotten to calling you Little Devil." I explained.

"What? Why?" He asked incredulously

"Because you're kind of evil and you've made it your mission to bug me, case in point," I said, moving my hand up and down in front of him, "Quite aptly named." I carried on.

He just shook his head at me and walked in.

"My name is Julian."

"Oh," Was my witty reply.

"I'm guessing this is your side of the room?" He said, pointing to the side that looked lived in, AKA my roommate's side.

"Haha, very funny," I replied rolling my eyes.

"Yeah, you don't look like the type of person to love Fall Out Boy." He commented.

"If you must know I actually do quite enjoy Fall Out Boy." I retorted, giving him a look.

"You do not strike me as a FOB lover." He muttered.

He didn't give me time to reply before he asked another question,

"So what are you doing?"

"I'm making a slide show."

"For an assignment?"

"No for fun."

He looked up from his poster examination to see if I was being serious. When he saw that I was his eyes bulged.

"Are you seriously doing a slide show for fun?" He asked, baffled.

"Yes, I quite enjoy them." I defended.

"That's what you do for fun? Slide shows?" He questioned his eyes still as big as saucers.

"Yes." I nodded, wondering why exactly he thought it was so strange.

"Do you even know the definition of fun?"

"Yes, enjoyment, amusement or light hearted pleasure." I said.

"Oh my gods, okay, tonight we are going out. Wear something comfortable. NO sweatpants." He ordered.

"I did not agree to going out with you." I said, frowning at him.

"I don't even know you."

"My name is Julian Mason Tesler, I am twenty three years old. I'm majoring in Astrophysics and Astronomy; this is my sixth year at college as I'm aiming to get my masters. I have two dads, I have a little sister. My best friend's name is Kyle. My favourite colour is lime green; my favourite animal is a jaguar. I have no idea why people invented fried ice cream. I'm allergic to coconut and I'm currently single." He rambled off.

"So what does any of that have to do with me going out with you tonight?" I queried.

"Now you know me. " He said.

I sighed mulling over the options. I mean I really did have nothing to do tonight and it wasn't like I had to wake up early or anything tomorrow.

I looked up at Julian, who was still examining the posters on my roommate's wall. He didn't look too dodgy and besides he did buy me a Chai Latte even if he was late to meet up in the first place.

"Okay." I said.

"Okay?" He replied excitedly.

"Yea, I'll go with you."

"Cool, I'll be outside your dorm at exactly half six. And this time I won't be late." He promised, before waving at me in goodbye and walking out the door.

With a smile, I looked at the time and realised it was already 5:45. I quickly jumped up and made my way to the shower. Ten minutes later I was standing in front of my mirror in a towel with sets of clothes folded across my bed. I could where my light blue jeans with my white crop top and my sneakers and throw a black coat over me to keep warm. Or I could wear my black tights and my purple anchor hoodie with my pastel purple doc martens. Or I could where my dark blue jeans with my pink sweater and my bright pink doc martens.

Eventually I decided on the pink outfit and changed quickly. I slapped on some light makeup and braided my hair up at the back before shoving the rest into a ponytail. I grabbed my pink and white polka dot backpack and shoved the essentials in it. Phone, gum, glasses, a book, my purse and some lip balm.

Just as I was shutting down my laptop I heard a knock on the door. Looking at the clock hanging above the door I saw the time said 6:25.

Hmm, five minutes early.

I shut my laptop and grabbed my backpack, making sure one last time I had everything I needed. Grabbing my keys, I bounced towards the door and swung it open.

There standing on the other side was a very attractive looking Julian.

He had dark jeans on and plain grey shirt. Over that he had a black jacket and a grey scarf slung loosely around his neck. His feet were encased in worn out black converse.

"Like what you see?" He teased.

"For that I would have to look in the mirror." I replied, with a smirk.

"Oh snap." He chuckled.

"Shall we go mi lady?" He asked, holding out his arm for me to loop mine through.

"We shall." I said, laughing at his crazy antics before looping my arm through his.
