My Demons

Never let go

It had been a week after the incident at the school. Teachers had no idea who Mr. Morrison was. Asa's father just told them that he had no idea what had happened to him. Since he had no family, they just put out a missing person report on him.

"Asa time for school!!" Jerry called from the kitchen downstairs. Asa groaned in annoyance and pulled her covers over her head. "Asa come on!!" Asa sighed.

"It's a late start dad! They're still looking for a new sub!" She screamed back down to him. Jerry sighed a bit and continued making breakfast. He knew it was still a touchy subject so he didn't want to push it.

"Psst- Asa." Asa raised a brow and pulled down her covers slightly just to where she could peek out of the covers. "Hey you're awake." Grey said with a smiling face.

Asa blinked and sat up quickly. "Where have you been?! I haven't seen you in a week!! Why did you just disap-" Grey cut her off by covering her mouth.

"Shh!! Not so loud."He said holding a finger up to his lips. "Keep it down... I don't want your dad knowing I'm here." Asa looked at him confused. Grey sighed a bit. "Look I'll make sure to answer all of your questions, but we have to get out of here first. Okay?"

Asa nodded a bit. Grey slowly moved his hand away from her mouth. Asa blinked a couple times. "Okay... now I need you to start packing. Just clothes and stuff though okay?" Asa swallowed the lump in her throat. 

"What...? Why..?" Asa asked him. Grey looked towards her door wondering if Jerry would pop in at any moment. He sighed a bit and looked back at her. He could see the confusion and fear in her eyes. 

"Asa listen to me very carefully... I just need you to pack and meet me at the park a couple blocks away. Can you do that for me? I'll explain everything there..." Asa nodded a bit. "Good. I'll see you there in a bit." He said before disappearing.

Asa got up and changed into her clothes before she started packing. Once she was finished, she peeked her head out of the door and looked around. She stepped out and flung her backpack over her shoulder.

"Asa? Are you up?" She froze when she heard her dad's voice. 'Crap crap crap'  She thought to herself.

"Uh... Yeah!! I'm just going to school early!! Mckenzie wants to meet up and get breakfast!!" She came up with a quick lie. She waited for her dad to respond to her.

"Okay!! I'll be picking you up after school though!!" She sighed a bit in relief and ran out the front door. She started off towards the park as quickly as possible. Once she got there, her was already out of breath. She looked around, looking for Grey.

"Grey?! Where are you ?!" She called out to him before she felt a hand cover her mouth and pulled her behind a tree. Where she was expecting to see Grey, it was actually her dad. His eyes were pure black. Her own eyes widened in fear. She realized why Grey wanted her to get away from her dad.

"Awe Asa~ Don't look at your dad like that." Her 'dad' said with a sickly sweet tone. Asa tried to get out of his grip, but he was pinning her against the tree. "Why would you run from me~? I mean.... I'm your dearest father~" He whispered into her ear.

Asa shook her head and bit down on his hand hard. The demon hissed in pain and pulled his hand away. Asa pushed him off of her and started to run. "Asa!! Get back here!!" The demon yelled at her before chasing after her.

She glanced over her shoulder at the demon. She felt arms wrap around her from the front. She jumped in surprised and tried to get out of the person's hold. "Asa! Asa! calm down!!" Asa stopped when she heard the voice. She looked up at the person to see Grey holding her.

"Grey..." She sighed in relief and relaxed into him. "My dad... he-" Grey shook his head and hugged her tightly. 

"Don't... It's fine... I know.... I just couldn't bring myself to tell you..." Asa buried her face into his chest. "I'm sorry..." Asa shook her head trying to fight off her tears. 

"Grey..." She whispered in a hoarse voice from trying not to cry. "Never let go... please never let me go..." She said before crying softly into his chest. Grey nodded and rubbed her back. 

"I won't.... I promise..."
