When we finally get through the teleport, I stand in awe at the sight before me. I. Am. In. The. Watchtower. The satellite hovering about the earth? Yeah. That. And now I have the sudden urge to barf up breakfast. "Barf bag, barf bag, barf bag!" I run around yelling, looking for a bathroom, something, to hurl into. I feel someone hit me in the gut and I see a spatial portal appear in front of me. I spew chunks into it. Once I am finished, I look up to see that both the hit in the stomach and portal came from Raven. "Uhh... thanks. I think." I say wearily.

"Try not to draw too much attention to yourself." Raven advises. "I should've told you that first-time exterdimensional travel can make one nauseous."

"That's an understatement..." I mutter but am ignored.

"Well follow me." Raven says. "I'll lead you to the area where the trials will take place."

Raven creates a disc under our feet and we fly over the acrobats and speedsters of the Watchtower. "Why go to all the trouble to recruit someone from far away to join your ranks when you have so many metas, techies, and spellslingers here already?" I ask, confused. The exobyte outbreak was enough to create a whole army of heroes under the Justice League's command. That much I knew. "The Titans will need new power to overcome Circe's threat. The magic heroes under Wonder Woman's command are not enough. That is why we went to four different universes to recruit four different individuals suited to the task."

"Four different universes??" I exclaim. "That's crazy! How were you able to do that?"

"You may notice that our universe, although similar to yours, is set several decades more into the future. The technology simply became available to us." Raven explains.

Soon, we arrive at the area where the trials will take place. When we get there, the other three Titans: Nightwing, Cyborg, and Starfire are there. "Raven!" Starfire exclaims. "It's good to have you back! Did your search turn out successful?"

Raven nods. "This is Kristin Opportune. She is our final candidate." Nightwing steps up to shake my hand. "Good to have you on the Watchtower. How do you feel?"

"Good, besides the fact that I'm a little queasy from the ride here."

"Oh, that feeling will pass." Cyborg assures me. "Trust me. I've felt it before." Raven rolls her eyes.

"Kristin, the Trials do not start until tomorrow." Starfire tells me. "You should go get some rest." I nod. "The barracks are just down that corridor. The female barracks are to the left. We'll see you out here at 8am, sharp!" Cyborg says. I wave as I follow down the hall.

------------------------------------------

When I walk into the female barracks, I find a bed to sleep on and put my head down. I wasn't sure if I was the only girl they picked or not -- I seemed to be the only one here, and I wasn't really interested in meeting anyone else from another universe. Up until today, I didn't think other universes were possible.

I am about to drift off to sleep when I sense something looming over me. Instincts take over -- my right hand shoots up in front of me and make contact with a face. The tables are turned and I'm the one looming over my assailant now. "Who are you? What's your name? Why'd you think it's a good idea to stalk me? Do. You. Speak. English?"

My assailant mumbles something under my hand and I take it off her face. She says something in another language, Chinese, I think. I shake my head. She fumbles with an ear piece that she's wearing and tries again. "My name's Jing Ti, and I can bend water and earth."

Oh very nice. Not! She's from the Avatar universe. I'm going to have difficulty understanding her if her translator breaks. I have a huge language barrier. "Well? What's your name, huh?" She asks me.

"Uh. My name is Kristin... Opportune."

"That's a weird name..." Jing Ti muses to herself. "But then again, everyone here has weird names. Hey! What's your power?"

"Well, besides being hypersensitive to everything and knowing a lot about this universe... nothing. I don't know exactly why I was chosen." I admit.

"Huh. Well I guess we'll figure it out together." Jing Ti says. "I think I was chosen because in my universe, I'm the only person to bend only two elements. Earth and water. Except earth is useless here since this whole place is made of metal."

"Can't you metalbend?" I ask. From watching the series' available in my universe, I have learned much about the Avatar universe.

"No, but I'd like to learn. I told them about my earthbending. They said they would supply me with the element when time comes to show how good I am."

"Well, we should get some sleep. Its getting late. Tomorrow's a big day." I advise her.

"Yeah, good idea." She agrees and gets off of my bunk. She climbs into the one beside me instead. "Goodnight." She says.

"Goodnight." I say back.
