Lavina's POV

I gave Gabe  the silent treatment the rest of the way back to the pack. Arranged Marriage. They haven't practiced that tradition in the Opal Pack in ages. Why start now? Well, I'm determined to find that out on my own. Gabe won't tell me anything, because he is in on the secret. Forget about asking Mom and Dad. They are the ones behind it. I'm so hating this situation right now. They wouldn't be doing this, unless it benefited them at the end. They always do this. I'm supposedly this star child that determines the future of the Pack. Everyone is always praising them; about their parental skills, or their behavioral skills, or their techniques of raising their kids. I was always referred to as the obedient child. Always abided by their rules. Until recent. When they found out that their only daughter has been hunting at night by herself. They said I was ruining their "image". When I take my position, I would be the only image they see. Just let them wait on it.

"Vina"

Just keep ignoring him I told myself.

"Vina Vina"

I was just this tempted to turn around. If he said my name three times, I would turn around. I don't know how he does it. Ever since we were little. It was as if I was compelled to do so.

I stopped walking. I turned to him, because I didn't want to be forced to turn.

"What?" I asked.

"Do you -"

"No." I knew what he was about to ask. I just don't open up all of a sudden. After all that has happened?

I was about to turn back around, until he said

"No. Wait. Lavina. Let me rephrase. We ARE going to talk about it."

I gave him the only WTF look. Since when did he grow a pair to start demanding for things, such as answers from me? Last time I checked, he was always the "asker" in the family.

"Oh. So you're going to demand answers from me?"

"Yeah baby sis, I'm demanding. I'm sick of asking for shit."

I just stared at him. Oh My Moon Goddess, he just cursed.

"You just cursed."

"So? Your point is?" He asked.

"'Point is?' Point is you never curse. Ever."

"Not in front of you. You don't know things..."

"Oh! I don't?  Okay big bro. Why don't you enlighten me. Please educate me about all the things I don't know."

"No."

He said no. What. Unreal. Then he says

"I can see in your stance that you are about to catch a 'tude. So, chill out for a minute, and let me finish, alright?"

"Fine."

"What I meant to say was, I will tell you the things you are clueless about if AND only if you tell me who else was there in the forest with you."

I am bugging out right now. Should I tell him? I mean, he is telling me a question without it really being a question. He only does this if he knows some -

If I thought my eyes were wide, then they are getting wider to the point they might just pop out of my head.  He knows. HE KNOWS! OH MY...

"Why would you ask if you already know? " I asked harshly.

"But you see, the thing is, I don't know. I have my suspicions, But I need your confirmation."

Even though I'm pissed beyond belief about the situation, he did tell me I was getting an arranged marriage; instead of me finding out about it the hard way. He did warn me. I give him that. So, now I owe him this. And plus, I'm dying to know all these things that they have kept from me.

"Ok." Was all I said.

"Ok." He said back.

"Ok." I needed that extra 'ok' for assurance.

"So, are you going to confirm?"

"The other person that was with me was my mate."

There. I said it. I didn't realise I held my breath in until I exhaled.

"And what is he? His scent is different."

"Oh! You could smell that?"

"Yes I can smell that. We all can, or did you forget that you're  a werewolf?" He said with a smirk.

"Hey! That's my thing! You can't do that!"

"You're stalling," he sing-sang. I hated when he did that.

"He is a Fae."

"He smelled of power. Who is he?"

"Well I be damned. If I didn't know any better, this sounds more of an interrogation than you just finding answers Gabe."

"Well I am."

"Well that wasn't the deal. You said you needed a conformation. I gave it. So now you got to hold up your end of the deal."

"Oh no no. On the Contrare my Little Lavina. I have yet to receive confirmation for my second suspicion. I did say suspicions, didn't I?"

Unbelievable. If I wasn't mistaken, I would have thought this 21 year old standing in front of me was Sherlock Holmes, instead of my annoying brother. Ugh.

"You're stupid. But fine. You win. But you better hold your end, Ok?"

"Whatever you say, little sis."

"He, my mate, is Prince Fae of the Willow Clan." I said that with such pride.

All I received from my brother was a look of shock, and...and something else. I don't know what. But the shocked expression dominated his stupid face.

I chuckled at my own thought. Damn I was funny.

"Vina."

I looked back at him and said

"What? What can possibly be the matter Gabe?"

"Your eyes are gold"

"Oh. Okay."

Gabe shook himself out of his, whatever state he was in, and said,

"Ok? Just ok? How are you calm about this? Your eyes changes colors to match your emotions. Woah..."

I stared at him with some wariness, because he is staring oh so hard at me.

"GABRIL! STOP LOOKING AT ME! You're creeping me out. What is clicking to you?"

"Did you just say that your mate is THE Prince Fae of the Willow Clan?"

"Yes? Gabe, what is going on?"

"That's why your eyes can change colors in the first place. He's very powerful. You are bonded to the most powerful Fae of all the land... This has to stop..."

After that rant, he started to murmur to himself.

"Hello! Earth to Gabe. Speak your thoughts to me if you will."

"Lavina, it's time for me to hold up my end of the deal."

My brother seemed to have changed. I mean he has always had my back, abd I had his, but this is more of a side he is showing to me for the first time. Maybe I do have family. Him. I have a newfound appreciation for him.

He starts to speak.

"Vina. Brace yourself. These are things that you needed to know. Need to know now, that our parents have kept from you...
