Draco pachycephalic is similar to the Whiplash Dragon because it resembles an ancient creature that has been long since extinct. Given the comical nickname "Knuckleheads" these dragons are extremely stubborn with unusual traits. One trait is that it has an nine inch thick skull decorated with a crown of spikes much like Pachycephalosaurus but their other unusual trait is that these dragons have a pouch like most marsupials. They have short, sturdy necks that holds their small domed heads, small but strong arms, large powerful legs, medium sized wings, and long muscular tails. Their crown seems to be made up of many spikes, but are actually branches off of a pair of short horns that grow around their domed heads and behind their ears from above their brows, males having the larger and longer of crowns than females. Many people state that these arid dwellers are part dinosaur, part dragon, and part kangaroo.
A unusual dragon species that can vary from a sandy-tan youngster to a dark, reddish-brown male or a bluish, grey-brown female. It isn't unusual for these dragons to have flecks of burgundy or slate blue on their backs and under their eyes. Another feature is that males have a black V-shaped band on their necks that secretes and foul smelling odor, which in Knucklehead dragons is some sort of male marking scent, which they rub on trees and rocks all over their territory. The eggs, which are rarely seen, have been reported to be a tannish-brown color.
The lifecycle of these dragons is a simple one. Young are born year round, having incubated in the pouch for an entire month, they hatch eyes open but tiny and frail. Their mother feeds them the same things she eats, only regurgitated. The young live off this for three months, which they will be introduced to the actual plants they eat. It is around this time that they start to explore the world out of the pouch. By six months they have completely left the pouch, but not their mother's side, and are half of their adult size but are just as fast. It is around this time that they start to develop their final coloration. They don't have their parent's stamina until they reach maturity at a year old.
Males leave in bachelor groups at this age while the females stick with their maternal pack till they are wooed in their second year by a roaming male with a new pack. Males usualy split off by their second year, but occasionally twins or close brothers would work together to form a pack. These pack are rare though, and most never last long.
Knucklehead Dragons lack any special ability, but their headbutting skills are no laughing matter. One can get gored by the crowns of these dragons and bones easily shatter when the dome of these thick skulled dragons ram into a person. Males have adapted to such activities involving males ramming into each other's side, but the main reason they have such a trait is to protect themselves against predators, namely the Whiplash Dragon which has no quarrels in hunting the weak and young of the species.
Tips!: When encountered by this dragon, do not back away. This is seen as a threat as opponents back off before ramming into each other. Instead step to the side and look away. If you're carrying any cactus fruits with you leave one on the ground, this is enough for the dragon to lose interest in you and allow you to go on your way.
