Roland sat up in bed. Something woke him up, but he didn't know what it was. He looked at his alarm clock. Why was he awake at 2 in the morning? He sat there, leaning against the headboard of his bed. His eyes adjusted to the dark and he could start to see the outline of things around him.

Of course. The thoughts came back. Why? Why now? He closed his eyes and tilted his head back. He didn't even try to fight off the thoughts tonight. That face formed again, haunting his imagination. He was so close, yet so far away. Roland opened his eyes again. Realization started to sink in. Words started to come together, thoughts flying around in his mind, piecing together.

When Roland thought of him, things started to fall in place like puzzle pieces. The more he allowed himself to think about him, the more things were made clearer. He was obviously Roland's new muse.

He quickly got out of bed and headed for his office. He went down the stairs of his house, and went into the small room, closing the door behind himself. He sat down at the desk, pulling out paper and grabbed a pen. He started to write down the words that circled in his head.

He did this all night, page after page, full of words and phrases. He crumpled papers up, started over, moved words around. He checked the time again, when he felt he had finished finally. Almost 6 now. He stayed up the entire night, writing and thinking. But, he had an entire song in front of him. He wasn't going to sleep any time soon, he was too eager to share his work with his manager and Manny.

"Well Ian and Curt are still MIA, but let's see what you have here" Their manager held his hand out, and Roland handed him 4 pages of paper. He scanned through the lines, mouthing the words silently.

Manny and Roland stood in front of him, waiting to see what he had to say about the new song. Roland had called Manny before arriving at the studio, and he came early to meet with Roland. The two went over the new lyrics, and discussed them before calling Paul

"This is brilliant. How'd you come up with this?" He finally said, but continued to read through the words

Roland shrugged lightly. "It came to me this morning around 2. I went downstairs and just started writing"

"I think this has the potential to be a hit, I really do. It has a lot of meaning and passion. A little bit of a darkness" Their manager went on and on

"I kind of had a muse help me with it. I know it doesn't make sense, but lately, I've had these thoughts and this morning I let them run free and here we are" Roland spoke softly, pointing to the papers in Paul's hands

Manny turned his head to look at Roland, and looked confused. "A muse? Like someone helped you with it?"

"Not exactly. I've been thinking about someone a lot lately and I usually stop myself from doing so. But now that this person hasn't been around for a while, I let myself think about them. And in a way, I was able to write all this down with those thoughts" Roland tried his best to explain. It was more difficult than he thought

Manny seemed to understand though, he just nodded along with him. Paul handed the papers back to Roland with a smile on his face. It was rare to see him smile

"We really need to find Curt and Ian, I'll put out a call for them and see if they come up" Paul put a hand on his chin, trying to think of a way to locate the missing members

"That won't be necessary" Manny blurted out, looking between Roland and their manager. Both of them looked at him, waiting for him to explain

"I think I might know where they are. Ian always had a safe place he went to after a night of heavy drinking. I'm sure he went there and brought Curt along with him. So I'll just go check there" Manny already had a story planned out, and was ready to go retrieve his friends from their 'vacation'
