I let out a content sigh as I held my margarita in one hand and adjusted my sunglasses with the other. Looking down I admired my sun kissed arms and legs as I basked in the warmth of summer in the comfort of a beach chair.

But something was missing, I closed my eyes for a few moments thinking whether I forgot something at the store while going to buy my drink.

Letting my eyes slide open again I furrowed my brows and looked around. I remembered the absence of my best friend.

Where's Nyla? She's been gone for-

My thoughts were abruptly cut off when the wind was knocked out of me with a hefty blow to my stomach.

"What the hell?!" I wheezed clutching my stomach and groaning. "Get off of me you fat mutt." I grumbled angry that my dream in paradise was so rudely disrupted.

I turned my back towards my attacker with a huff. "Go away I still have ten minutes."

A minute passed. Two. Three.

Finally halfway through the fourth minute I turned back around and faced the devil herself.

With a battle cry that sounded more like barks of joy she began attacking me.

"Gross! Okay okay I love you too, now stop!"

After being nearly suffocated to death by slobber I pulled back, keeping the beast at bay with my outstretched arms. Slowly I slid back to the edge of the bed so I could escape into the bathroom.

"Stay. You better stay or I'll-"

I shrieked at the sound of my alarm blaring and jumped what felt like two feet into the air. Off my bed. Onto the hard floor.

"Damnit." I groaned and gripped my head which had slammed against the nightstand. After carefully getting up I slapped my phone to turn the annoying sound off. Once it was off and "Earned it" by The Weeknd was playing my aching skull was forgotten and I was dancing 'seductively' in front of the mirror. It probably looked more like I was trying to get a bug out from under my shirt but we all gotta start somewhere right?

Nyla whined and shook herself as if to rid her mind of the horrible things she was seeing.

"Oh shut up I'm not that bad." I laughed and patted her on the head before walking into the bathroom to take a shower.

An hour and a half later I stood in front of the mirror pouting, "I hope this is good enough." I sighed as I eyed my muffin top. The outfit I bought for my new employment consisted of a maroon colored blouse and a dark grey pencil skirt. Not being the skinniest girl in the world it accented the curves that I wish were at least a little more subtle.

"Fuck it, I love food and I'm proud of my body!" I turned away from the mirror with a confidant smile and marched to the front door.

"Phone, keys, purse...shit where is my purse?!"

I frantically searched throughout my apartment scattering things onto the the floor and throwing all kinds of things around. Clothes, papers, pillows and even a half eaten bone that managed to get wedged underneath the couch were being thrown over my shoulders as I desperately searched for my purse.

"Thank god!" I sighed after 10 minutes of unsuccessful searching. I held out my hand under the mouth of Nyla who's tail was wagging furiously as she held my black Tory Burch bag. "Good girl! Thanks, and wish me luck!" Giving the grey and black Catahoula a gentle hug so not to get any hairs on my outfit I rushed out the door with phone and bag in hand.

The distance from my humble abode to my new job wasn't far so I chose to walk instead of awkwardly trying to avoid a conversation with a taxi driver. I began my trek through the city and glanced down at my outfit. I couldn't help an apprehensive expression from sliding onto my face. What if it isn't enough and I walk in looking completely underdressed? Or maybe I over did it with my purse? Not quite fond of purses as they always seem to get in the way more than anything, I had brought the more expensive one of the two I possessed. The piece of fabric made merely for holding things cost more than $500 which is just plain ridiculous. Of course I'd never say that to my mother who had bought the purse and given it to me as a birthday gift.

A sharp and loud honk ripped me from my thoughts just as I was about to stumble out into a bustling street full of cars. "Oh shit!" I jerked back and into someone who grunted as the heel of my stiletto dug into their foot.

I quickly moved off of and away from the person and began apologizing before I fully turned to face them. "Shit, shit, shit, sorry! Are you okay? I'm really sorry, I wasn't paying attention and I almost walked into the middle of a busy street and- oh god are you okay?"

"I'm fine, watch what you're doing next time." The curt reply was dismissive and uninterested. I took a moment and gazed at the man who was standing before me. He seemed far more interested in making sure that there wasn't a hole in his expensive looking leather shoes than to pay any attention to me.

He was tall and extremely handsome, dressed in a luxurious suit. His caramel colored skin was pulled taut over the muscles in his neck as he bent down to examine his shoe. My gaze followed him as he straightened and his hazel eyes flickered toward me. The beige, green, and blue speckled eyes managed to make me feel like melting into a messy puddle at their beholder's feet while simultaneously making me want to flee in the other direction as far as my long legs could take me. His sharp jaw flexed and the dark stubble that covered his chin and the skin above his lip moved as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Move."

That one word. That one small syllable. Irked me to no end.

Its funny really, I'd never felt the need to use that word until now. I always thought it sounded like a word that some uptight penny pinching miser would use after you asked them to buy you a pair of Nike air Jordan's.

Standing in front of this posh stranger I realized it was the perfect time to end my abstinence from using the word. Noting his shiny leather shoes, impeccably perfect wrinkle free suit, and shiny diamond earrings the man probably only spent money on himself. After sizing him up for ten seconds I finally met the man's hard stare.

I narrowed my eyes as anger rose in me. "I get that I stepped on your foot and all but there's no reason to be an ass. You have all the rest of the sidewalk to stand and wait to cross. So how 'bout you put your pretty shoes to use for once and walk yourself right on over there." I leaned around the lean figure and pointed down the street to the next crosswalk.

The guy had the nerve to smirk. Don't get me wrong, I definitely noticed how much more attractive he looked as the smug smile effortlessly played on his pink lips. But I was too busy processing what he had said to let my thoughts linger on his flawless facial attributes.

"It looks like you could use the walk more."

I stared wide eyed for a moment. In complete and utter shock. Then I exploded.

About 1,300 words in this update, I think I'll keep it going like this with around 1,000 words each update.

The strangers a dick commenting on a woman's figure like that isn't he? I bet you're all rooting for a nice round of comebacks from Alissa. Not to worry! I'm sure you won't be disappointed ;)
