The next day, Dri, Peter, and a few of my parent's friends are over for a housewarming party. Ash and Peter are playing a video game in the basement. Dri and I are in my room upstairs. "So, anything new?" I ask. "I know I've been spending a lot of time with Asher."

"Not much. And you've been seeing him the same amount as normal, it's just a lot more, dramatic," Dri says.

"Wow, you're right. Anyway, what's happening with operation get-Dri-a-girlfriend?"

"Um, not much. I like this one girl, but it wouldn't work out."

"Aw! Why not?"

"Because she likes guys. And she already has a boyfriend."

"Oh. Well, that's too bad."

"Yeah."

"Girls!" Cassie yells from downstairs. "Dinner's ready!"

"So, Ash," Dri says, once we're all situated at the table. "The video's at over three hundred likes."

"What video?" Asher asks.

"What video? The one with you and Peter!"

"Oh, my!" We laugh. "I totally forgot about that!"

"What is it?" Connie asks. I look at my brothers.

"Oh, just some dare. Stupid teenage stuff," I say.

"Oh. Okay."

"Ash, you working Thursday, or what?" Peter asks.

"Yeah. I only get a week off. I could have two, but it wouldn't be paid."

"That's too bad. I heard there's this awesome new action movie coming out that day." I gasp.

"What?" Ash asks.

"The movie! Our date! We skipped it! We skipped our date on Friday!"

"Oh my! That's the first time! How could we forget?"

"It was the day Linda called! And you were under a lot of stress last week. And this week. Really ever since, you know."

"Yeah. And I guess then this Friday, we have to watch two."

"What? That would be like four hours! It would be ten-thirty by the time we got home."

"Go ahead," Dad chimes in.

"What?" I ask.

"Go ahead. You can stay that late. And anyways, like you said, you need a break."

"Wow. Thanks, Dad. Six it is. Let's not forget."
