"So, when do I get to meet this stepmother?" Asher asks as we pull up into my driveway.

"That's her car right there." I point to the blue minivan in the spot where Asher usually parks,

"So I'm guessing that's an invitation to come inside?"

"When have you not?" We park the car and go inside. Dad and Cassie are sitting in the living room looking for places to have the wedding. "Hey Dad, Cassie."

"Hey hun, Ash," Dad says.

"Well, who is this handsome devil?" Cassie asks. Asher blushes.

"Cass, this is my boyfriend, Asher. Ash, this is my soon-to-be-stepmom, Cassie."

"Nice to meet you, ma'am," Asher says, shaking her hand.

"Ooh, a gentleman too. This one's a keeper." She winks. Dad and I laugh.

"We'll be downstairs," I say.

"We'll be up here." We walk into my basement, aka, Asher's home-away-from-home. An air mattress is in the far corner, along with a washer and dryer, a bathroom, mini fridge, and flat screen tv, complete with the newest edition of every game console you can think of.

"So, is this place still mine after the wedding?"

"Well, for now. We're moving next week to a bigger house."

"Wait, still nearby, right?"

"Yeah. I actually think it's closer to you. We already have it." My dad and Cassie have been planning to move in together for a while now, and this just made it official. It's a five-bedroom house, complete with a furnished basement, and pool and a hot tub. Plus a two car garage. "Don't worry. You'll still have your basement."

"Good. I get a bathroom too, right?" He says sarcastically.

"Yep." The house has five bathrooms. One on the ground floor, one in the master bedroom, one in my new bedroom, one in the basement, and one in the upstairs hallway.

"Fantastic. Now, it's just time for me to propose."

"You better not!" I hear my dad yell from upstairs.
