General Thread Rules

1. Follow all club rules. If you don't know what those are please read the guidelines here.

2. Respect each other whether they be the players, spectators or moderators.

3. No trolling.

4. To avoid getting shut down, no role playing that includes third-person. This is why all DeathBattle scenes will now occur on @Death-Battle profile.

Game Play: Rules and Other

1. First and for most have fun. =) This game is meant to help you better understand your characters while also getting to brag a little about how awesome they are.

2. The original description of your character is the pinnacle. Most judgement for the winner will based upon it. Discussion is solely for clarification and how your character would fare against the other in the current match-up.

3. Games are a week long. Each week will have a new arena and mini rules. 4. Increase in power SLOWLY. As the week goes on the character will become more OP.

5. All match-ups are open to a window of discussion by players and spectators, the length of which is open to judgement by the moderators.

6. No character can be un-killable or invincible.

7. No one-hit kills without serious preparation.

8. A losing character cannot be resubmitted in the same round, even if they were at a lowered power level. If a character is decided to be too OP at the current level by a moderator, they can be resubmitted later.

9. Players may submit more than one character a round once their previous character loses. There is no limit on submissions,but please give other people a chance to play as well.

10. Battles winners do NOT always need to be officially called by moderators. Moderators are available to facilitate discussion and call rulings as needed. If one author concedes defeat, the other author and character are wins.

DeathBattles

1. DeathBattles will occur when a challenge is made on a ruling by a moderator.

2. To challenge the ruling by a moderator. Please post CHALLENGE.

3. DeathBattles can also occur when two authors debate well for a long time and both agree to a DeathBattle. At this point, the facilitating moderator in the discussion will write a DeathBattle.

4. DeathBattle scenes will be written up and posted on Death-Battle

Moderators System:

Anyone posting has to understand this isn't a perfect system. Limited info is being given for two different characters out of context from two different stories, even worlds sometimes. Judgment is made based on logic, any research by the moderators, discussion on the thread, and the original descriptions of the characters. This is supposed to be light, fun and allow for deeper understanding of your character. It's to show off and brag what makes your character awesome but also appreciate everyone elses.

Battles are meant to show off your character's Logic Defining and Fantasical abilities and entertain. In its essence, this is our twist of a parody of Death Battle by ScrewAttack. Science is used to explain aspects of abilities in a more understandable way. If a character can throw the moon out of orbit that takes so many tons of force, it is a way to measure their strength. The fact that they can do it is not necessary to explain.

Moderators will approach any match-ups looking at first how could the challenger win and then how could the champion win. This approach helps set moderators in a mind-frame to better facilitate discussion in relation to the games progression through different power levels. Both combatants will be considered for different ways they could win to decide whether the champion continues their rein or the challenger defeats them. If a long winning streak does occur close to the beginning of the week, there may be a reset in game play.

If a stalemate occurs in a match-up that cannot be resolved, the challenger will be the victor.
