It was a beautiful day in Equestria. Applejack had just finished doing some work over at Sweet Apple Acres and was about to enter Sugarcube Corner to get a snack. Suddenly, she saw Pinkie Pie coming out the door, pushing a huge yellow cake on a cart with wheels.

"Pinkie? What's goin' on?" She asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Oh, hi, Applejack!" Pinkie said excitedly, sticking her head out from behind the cake and waving at her. "Uhh....getting some exercise," she said quickly as she continued pushing.

"What's the giant cake for?" Applejack continued out of curiosity.

"I PINKIE PROMISED!!!" Pinkie suddenly yelled into Applejack's face, jumping up even higher than the cake itself.

Applejack flinched at the volume of her voice. "Pinkie promised what? What's happenin'?"

"Shh!" Said Pinkie nervously, putting a hoof to Applejack's mouth as her eyes darted around, checking if anypony else had heard what she said.

"I think it is safe to tell Applejack, Pinkie." Princess Luna said calmly as she walked out of Sugarcube Corner. "Just promise that you won't tell my sister about what you hear."

"I promise, Princess!" Applejack said solemnly as she put a hoof to her heart.

"Alright. Tomorrow is my sister's birthday, and I'm planning a surprise party for her at Canterlot. Would you like to come? Your friends are all going to be there."

"Well, I'd be honored to come to the party," Applejack replied. "Can I help with the preparations?"

"Of course. That would be wonderful."

Pinkie Pie leaned against the cart she was pushing with one elbow and wiped some sweat from her forehead tiredly. "Phew! We sure could use your help!"

Suddenly, Pinkie Pie fell over as the cart started moving. The cake was rolling away! "Oh, no!" Pinkie yelled in panic.

"Runaway cake!" Applejack screamed, trying to run after the cake. She stopped abrubtly as the cake smashed into a lampost, covering it with frosting, chocolate, fruit, and more frosting.

Everyone gasped and stared wide-eyed at the horrible sight.

"Oh, no!," Applejack sighed, looking down sadly.

"It'll take forever to make another cake like that!" Pinkie said, waving her hooves dramatically.

Luna placed a hoof on Pinkie's shoulder to comfort her. "Don't worry, Pinkie Pie. That cake was much bigger than we needed anyway. I was hoping for something that was about two Pinkie Pies tall, not as tall as four Pinkies stacked on top of one another." She commented with a laugh.

"Well, then I won't need this anymore!" Pinkie replied as she pulled out a super tall ladder from nowhere. "I'd better get to work on a new cake. See ya later!" She said, her happy demeanor returning as she bounced back into Sugarcube Corner.

"Goodbye, Pinkie!" Luna waved. After Pinkie hopped off, she turned back to Applejack. "It looks like we have a lampost to clean."

"Alright then, this is the room we are going to decorate for the party," Luna said as she magically opened the two doors and led Applejack into a large room in Canterlot Castle.

Applejack looked around as she entered. "Looks like a good place for the party."

"Now, when is that last shipment of decorations going to come in?" Luna thought to herself, putting a hoof to her chin.
