Mikasa

I stood there catching my breath. I felt so dizzy and it was hard to see. I saw Eren wide-eyed scanning me. I suddenly dropped to the hard floor and Eren came running towards me.
My eyes felt tired and I was still coughing some of the ashes out of my lungs.
"Mikasa!" He said moving a piece of hair, tucking it behind my ear.
I smiled, "I did it..."
"Yeah, you did." He smiled stroking my cheeks.
"I learned to smile in the rain, smile through dark times, defeat my problems." I said tears swelling in my eyes. I did it...
"Let's get out of here." He carried me bridal style and walked towards the ambulance.

Later...

After everyone was safe from the hospital, Eren got his house rebuilt. Although he surely upgraded it and now I live there as well.
After the fire I haven't been able to see Alina, I can't even contact her phone.
I was sitting on a swing trying to call Alina.
I looked at our messages and all of them were removed.
"That's so weird..." I mumbled as AJ and Erika were running around the grass.
I sighed and put my phone away.
"Yo Mika." Eren hugged me from behind.
I grabbed his hands squeezing them. I realized that I was also touching an envelope.
"What's this?" I asked looking at it strangely.
"My late wife told me, when you found the next girl you know you're going to stay with forever to give this to her. It barely survived the fire." He pushed the envelope at me.
Eren turned around seeing customers.
"I'll be back." He pecked my lips. I smiled and looked at the front of the envelope.
"That's so weird...it has my name on it." I opened it.

Dear Mikasa,
Every moment you and Eren challenge together, stand strong. I know you two were meant to be...I'm Eren's late wife, Alina.

My eyes widen, wait....I just barely noticed, everytime Eren or any one arrives she leaves...I've been talking to a ghost...

You must take care of Eren and my beautiful twins who are special. Please I beg of you with all my heart take care of Eren. You might be asking why I wrote this letter, because you needed to know who I really am. Eren's late wife and Erika and AJ's late mother that need you to be their new mom. I will always be watching your new family now. Thank you Mikasa for everything, you have smiled in the rain...you are a very strong person who had the ability to smile in the rain; smile through dark times...and keep on going. Proud of yah!

My clenched the envelope tightly. This was fate...my life has led to this...
I smiled as I watched Eren pretending to be a monster holding Erika by the legs and AJ trying to reach for her.

"Mikasa help me!!" Erika yelled waving her hands in the air.
I rolled my eyes at Eren and stood up helping Erika.
Alina this whole time, you wanted me to be with him. To take your place and watch after him and the twins.
I put Erika down and Eren carried me bridal style running around.
You guided me to him...you led me to him and helped us.
He brought his lips up to mine and kissed my lips.
Thank you Alina...

For teaching me how to smile in the rain...
