~ Charlies' POV ~

We had ordered burgers with some chips and Coke. Hazel devours her burger, causing me to laugh while drinking. Coke bursting out my nose. It stung so badly, my eyes started to water.

Hazel just laughs at me.

"Coke nose. Coke nose. You gotta Coke nose!", she chants as if we were children.

I hold my nose for a while before grabbing a napkin. I wipe myself off with a paper napkin, then grin. Aiming, I throw the napkin at her face. She's frozen since she didn't see it coming, her face blank. It lands on her lap.

She turns to look at me, her head tilted to the side. A death stare masks her face.

"What, did you just, do?", she says, no tone in her voice. Spacing her words so carefully it scares me.

"I... I threw you, with a napkin.", I gulped. Then slowly standing up, keeping my eyes locked with hers. She lifts herself slowly from the seat, soon we're standing next to the table. Exchanging death stares.

Suddenly, arms grab me from behind and I scream, but the person places a hand over my mouth.

"Why is she screaming, Haze?", he chuckles.

His voice smooth but a rough edge to it. I don't recognise it.

Hazel shakes her head and crosses her arms over her chest, standing all sassy like.

"I have no clue.", she smirks.

I glare at her and she just laughs at my sudden reaction. Who I'm guessing is Grant lifts his hand off my mouth, but his grip didn't loosen from my body. His body right behind mine, so close it felt unreal. His arms hugging my waist. I felt warm enclosed in this strangers grasp.

What am I thinking?! He's a stranger...

He let's go and steps back, but still standing close. He smiles and looks down at me. He's much taller.

"Hi. I'm Grant.", his tone soft and honey-like.

"Um... I'm Charlie.", Turning to face him. I look down then look up at Hazel, whose face is covered with the face of a champion that's just won a tournament. I stare at her confused.

She sighs and walks towards Grant, hugging him for a brief second then coming loose.

"Let's pay. I wanna go home!", her voice excited once again, making me smile. I walk after the two and stop at the door, waiting for Hazel to finish paying. I lean against the wall, my head held back.

Grant walks up to me and leans next to me, close again.

"So, how long have you known her?", he asks, gesturing towards Hazel.

"Practically my whole life. We met each other at a young age.", I say. Then look up to this towering figure.

"That's cool. I'd known her for a while too. My father insisted I go with to their family party about a year ago, and that's where I met Haze.", he said her name with such brotherly affection.

He smiled, the one side going a bit higher than the other. His crooked smile disappears as Hazel gets to us.

She grabs my arm and escorts me out the Diner. Grant follows silently behind. I turn my head and peer at him from the corner of my eye. He's typing something on his phone, but looks up a few times to make sure he follows the right people.

We're on the road again. Turns out Hazel had taken a wrong turn and led us further away from her house. She sat in the back, obviously very tired from the journey because she's fallen asleep.

Her body moves as the car does, her head hit the arm rest once or twice as we go over a bumps. I laugh each time since she doesn't take notice in what's happening to her, other than turning over to the other side.

I'm sitting next to Grant, who's driving us home.

~Grants' POV~

Haze is asleep. Thank god, her voice can sometimes be annoying. I offered to drive because even Charlie looked tired as hell.

I peer at her from the corner of my eye. Charlie is turned and is looking out the window.

"You should get some rest. Aren't you tired?", I say without looking at her.

She sighs but doesn't relieve her eyes from the view she's watching.

"I'm fine, Grant. And I'm not going to sleep with you right next to me.", she scoffs then laughs.

"What? Why would I be a problem?"

"I just met you. And I don't know what's gonna go on in that boyish mind of yours when I go sleep.", she turns and pokes my forehead.

Laughing, she yawns and places her arms behind her head.

"You don't have to worry, Li. I'm not going to do anything. And besides, I'm driving the car."

She just stares at me, her brow creased from confusion.

"What?", I'm confused myself.

"You just called me, Li. No ones given me a nickname like that before.", she smiles then closes her eyes.

"I think it suits you. Now sleep, will you?!", I tease.

She laughs then reopens her eyes, looking over at me with a grin.

"Yes, Daddy. I'll need my blankie too.", she mimics a childs' voice and sticks out her tounge playfully.

I laugh then look at the radio.

"Want some music playing as you sleep?"

She sighs.

"Sure, but soft music. My head began aching awhile ago."

"Okay. Look in the cabinet, there's a CD case."

She bends forward and opens the cabinet, taking out a black CD case. She flips it over then opens it.

"Three Seconds. A mix isn't it?", she traces a finger across a pattern that's been drawn on the CD.

"Yep, hope you like it."

She insets the CD then presses play. The first song was Skrillex ~ Kill Everybody...
She looked up at me, a -really?- look on her face.

My brow creases with uneasy confusion.

"What? Its Skrillex.", I emphasise the artists name.

"Nothing.", pressing the 'next' button, she browses through the CD.

Ending at a slow song.

"Roger Rabbit. I love it.", she smiles up at me then yawns again.

"Mmh... I think I'll get some rest. No funny business, got it?", pointing a her index finger into my face.

I push it away.

"Yes, yes.", I roll my eyes and focus on the road once again.

Turning a corner, I peer at her. She stretches again then rests her head on my shoulder. She shifts a bit.

"You've got to have the boniest shoulder in the world", she laughs and repositions her head. Closing her eyes, she starts breathing softer until shes fallen asleep.

I look down at her, her hands on her lap and her head laying on my shoulder. Smiling, I turn back to face the road.
