Today I am free. I have come of age to finally make my own decisions on my academic and social life; since the tender age of 5 years old, every mer-person who is part of the wealthy society in Mertopia must have a guider present with them at all academic and social events, so that the mer-children stay poised in their parents and adult superiors presence. However now at the grand age of sixteen I am able to take charge of my life.

"Oona! Where is my purple Dadio & Gabon killi designer t-shirt?" I screeched down the hall to my maid.

As I wanted today to be perfect, this was my chance to show what I can do without a guider breathing down my back.

"On the left side of your wardrobe by your pink Waggle Fins sun hat!" Oona beckoned

I swam towards my wardrobe and open the two slider doors and came tumbling out was two horrible creatures; my siblings, Daryah and Kyle, they love to snoop around in my stuff.

"Your so lucky you don't have a stupid guider following you all day, I still have Crozoda helping me in school even though I don't need her help" Daryah whined with her lips in a pout.

"Well in three years you will be able to do things on your own too" I said feeling kind of smug.

I took off my night dress and started to brush my long black coiled hair by my dressing table, letting my hair stroke my waist.

"Mama says a lady shouldn't be naked in front of others!" Kyle squealed

"Then why are you in my room!?" I grabbed my little brother by his tail fin and with the other hand I yanked on to my sister Daryah's wrist and dragged them out of the room and slammed the door. I then placed my lipstick on in my favourite lip colour, red coral, then I gently slide my shellette on to my chest and put my purple t-shirt on, afterwards I tide my hair in to a low ponytail. My purple t-shirt contrasts ghastly  against my bright yellow tail but it suit my dark skin.

"My lady, Coralia, your Mother and Father is expecting you in the breakfast hall" My organiser Aza announced.
