Chapter 5

*Previous to the heroes' meeting*

As Melissa drove away, her tears would not stop flowing. She eventually decided to pull over so she could have private time to process what happened. How could Brian do this? He said he was leaving to take care of something, but he didn't tell her he was cheating on her! She needed to pick up something at her friend's store when low and behold she saw her boyfriend standing by the Eiffel Tower kissing another woman! Melissa could barely take it. She looked down at the ring that Brian got her for their anniversary a week ago. Right now, she could barely stand it. She shut her eyes tightly to try to close herself off from the world. Then, a mysterious purple butterfly landed inside of her ring. Melissa looked up with an angry expression as she heard a voice that said,

"Hello Love Splitter, I'm Hawkmoth. You should not be treated like this. I am giving you the opportunity to split up all couples in Paris for good, but you must do something for me in return. Retrieve the miraculouses of Ladybug and Cat Noir."

"I'm ready, Hawkmoth." Melissa said confidently as a black and dark purple mixture transformed her.
