Jusitn took my hand as he stood ankle deep in the water. He smiled warmly at me as my hand became tighter around his. I closed my eyes as the salty water wrapped around my ankles. I took a deep breath as I opened them again and looked at my feet that were submersed in the water. Memories flashed through my eyes like a dream but i awake and it felt like it was happening in front of me. But i wasn't myself in this dream, i was merely just a person watching, I could see myself...jump in the water. I then snapped out of it when i felt warmth around me. My face was buried into Justin's muscular shoulder with his bulky arm rubbing my back. I dont know what I did when I was out of it. I know I didnt scream or cry, but Justin could probably tell by my face what was going on in my mind. he then put his hand on my shoulder, as I moved away from him. "Are you ok?" he asked as he looked into my eyes. His eyes were what made me feel safe and know that everything would be ok. In his big hazel eyes I could see the light from the sun in. I nodded in reply as I looked out to sea. I could see surfers out there. Killin' it. I longed to be out there, where I thought I belonged. Justin put his arm around me and turned me round to walk back to our spot on the beach. My best friend, Tiana, lay on the towel soaking up the sun. She closed her eyes as she listened to the music on her iphone through her headphones. I sat does on my towel next to her and Justin sat behind me and held me close. We both put on our shades and shared my music. I smiled up at him when his new song 'All That Matters' came on, i started quietly singing it as I watched the birds in the sky. He kissed me on the forehead as I sung. As I leaned against his chest, his hands lowered from my waist to slide down my legs. Both of his legs lay either side of me. The song then changed to Justin's favourite song by Beyonce. Justin bought songs on my iphone and made his own playlist, and I did the same on his. so if we were listening to music in the car on one of our phones it would have mixture of type of songs. He started singing along to 'Love On Top' and I could feel his torso move to the beat. Tiana propped herself up and laughed at us. "You two are so cute!" she giggled. "you guys can go surfing if you want, I don't mind." I told Tiana and Justin. They both smiled at each before Tiana checked it was OK. I simply smiled and nodded and they were off with their boards. We were in Australia! I couldn't hold them back from surfing here. Justin quickly ran back and gave me a quick kiss on the lips. I smiled as he departed from my lips and winked at me. "Love you, gorgeous!" He said to me before he walked towards the beach. "Have fun, Sexy!" I shouted after him. He jogged off with the top half of his wet suit loose and hanging past his waist.
Tiana's skinny figure made every girl jealous, and her ombre hair flowed just past her shoulders. Of course she was wearing her favourite stripey bikini and rash vest over the top. They both killed it out there, the waves were amazing. I smiled as Tiana laughed at Justin falling off his board. I could see him come out the water and brush through his perfect hair. Justin jumped back on his board and sat on it next to Tiana on her's. As they floated in the water Justin pushed Tiana off her board. I longed to be out there with them. It hurt to see them have fun and laughing together while I sat her looking like a fucking loser. I took my headphones out and picked myself up. I felt the sand move between my toes as I walked towards the shore. I closed my eyes, breathed in and took the final step. Into the water. I felt the salty water wash out the sand between my toes. I opened my eyes and realised where I was. I wasn't scared or ashamed... I was proud. I looked up and Saw Tiana and Justin running towards me with their boards. "Kate?" Tiana said as if she didn't believe it was me in the water. I smiled and shrugged at them both. Justin pushed his board in the ground and spun me round. "I don't think I can surf yet or go too deep but... it's a start, right?" I said when Justin put me down. "Hell yeah!" Justin said. Tiana came up and hugged me. I could feel a hole inside me start to fill. A hole that was made when I stopped surfing and I knew that when I started surfing again It would be full again. That I would be myself
