Sudden Challenge

The next day was awkwardly quiet. Little conversation was made at the guild hall as the tenseness in the air made things worse by the second. Fuyu, Natsu, and Happy decided to head to the guild together and saw the reason why nearly the entire town was quiet.

Two young men sat on either side of Master Makarov at the bar and smiled when their gaze found Fuyu and Natsu.

"It's wonderful to see you two again. We'd like to have a match with you." Sting informed, standing up.

Rogue followed suite and held out one hand. "It'll be a two on two battle. You can decline, if you like, but we'll be taking back the spot of number one guild in Fiore." He added, smiling a little.

"Huh? Wanna go? How 'bout I remind you of what happened at the Grand Magic Games." Natsu threatened with a smirk as he held up his left hand, making flames erupt from his fingers to spell out "Try Me".

"The games? Ha! We were arrogant and naive back then. We've been training non-stop after our mission to kill Acnologia failed. Training so hard, we're able to beat you now." Sting declared with a wide grin.

"Oi oi! If we're gonna fight, can we do it elsewhere? I know the master hates it when we destroy guild property and, considering the damage done during the grand magic games battle, we'd probably destroy half of Magnolia too." Fuyu commented, getting the old man to wipe a tear of joy from his eye.

"Sure, let's do this in the grassy plains outside of town." Natsu roared, heading back out of the guild, being followed by the twin dragons.

Fuyu, however, walked over to Erza, who was indulging her self on a slice of watermelon and a large pile of strawberries. "Erza-san, do you remember the thing I asked you about a few weeks ago?" He inquired.

The scarlet-haired woman turned to him and nodded. "Yes, it should've arrived last night, according to my memory." she replied, making the ice mage smile.

"Thank you very much!" He said, bowing, before walking over to Makarov. "Master, did a package come for me while we were gone?" He questioned.

"Actually, a strange box was sent for you." He answered, reaching under the bar and handing Fuyu a box nearly four feet in length.

He set it on the counter and opened it to reveal a three and a half-foot longsword with a red and ice blue-dyed pattern on the hilt. "This looks amazing...Erza! Tell your weapon supplier I rate him five stars!" Fuyu yelled to the scarlet Mage before running after the Natsu, Sting, and Rogue.

~Several Minutes Later~

The four stood across from each other on the wide open prairie. A two on two duel to see just who was stronger.

Surprisingly, Master Mavis sat on a tree branch a couple dozen yards away, smiling like usual.

Natsu, of course, noticed her immediately, but Fuyu had never met the first master before, thinking she who just happened to be around.

"Ready to get started?" Sting asked with a confident smile.

"As ready as I am to prove who's still on top!" Natsu retaliated, brandishing his own mischievous smirk.

Rogue grinned a little and got into his own fighting stance as did Fuyu. They were not ones who usually boasted before a quarrel.

Without warning, Natsu sprinted forward and grabbed Sting's jacket, ignited his hands to use his Wing Attack spell.

Sting, in response, brought his leg up as he leaned back and kicked Natsu into the air. "Don't think you can beat the both of us by rushing things!" he called out while activating his Holy Ray, causing a volley of pure white projectiles to speed towards Natsu.
