by me :--)

i tried to envision it
as if the images of us
weren't etched into my mind
in pretense and in sin
hoping a part of you was still mine

i tried to envision it
our nights caught in bliss
we pretended it was nothing
though i could've sworn you told me
i was the only thing that you miss

i tried to envision it
the way you held my hand at night
in denial and in sin
you said i was the only thing
that kept you alive

i tried to envision it
the multiple times that i left
innocence is our foe, malice is our friend
pathetically, this foolish girl
always comes back to you in the end

the veins in your hands
the color of your skin
you are my salvation
i drink from your sins

a dalliance, an affair
i willed myself not to think
for now all i can do
is write what i've been feeling
in prose and poetry
and in paper and ink
