"Halloween. Halloween. Halloween. I love Halloween. Ghosts and goblins and witches and pumpkins, I love Halloween!" Lauren sang happily to herself as she walked down the hallway carrying three big bags of candy for the trick or treaters. Halloween wasn't for another week but Lauren wanted to get a head start on things.
Dinah walked behind her, balancing three pumpkins in her arms with ease. (Thanks, gym.) After getting into the apartment and setting their things on the counter, the younger of the two started putting the groceries away while Lauren walked into her bedroom to wake Camila up.
Lauren watched her sleeping girlfriend from the doorway for a few moments, a soft smile on her face. Then she stepped back to get a running start and jumped onto the bed, straddling the brunette's waist and placing her hands on either side of her head. "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!" She yelled as she was in the air.
Camila's eyes shot open the second Lauren hit her. It took her a second to realize what was going on but when she did, she relaxed back into her pillow and reached up to hold her girlfriend's hips, a sleepy smile on her face. "Good morning, my love." She greeted and closed her eyes again.
"Good morning." Lauren replied happily. "Happy Halloween." She repeated, leaning down to place small kisses on her warm cheek.
Camila hummed at the feeling of Lauren's lips against her skin. "Was I asleep for a week?" She asked, knowing the holiday wasn't today. Unless she really did sleep for a week. But she didn't think that was possible.
"No," Lauren giggled. "It's not really Halloween just yet. Dinah and I just got back from the store and we picked out some fun things to do each day. It'll pass the time quicker." She explained, moving Camila's hair to the side so she could kiss her neck. "I was planning on decorating today. Would you like to help me?" She asked.
Camila rubbed her hands up and down Lauren's back. "Of course I would like to help you." She told her. "What else are we doing this week?" She asked.
Lauren pulled away with a grin. "If you get out bed you can find out." She said before rolling off and jumping to her feet. "I'll make you something to eat!" The girl called as she ran out of the room.
Camila sighed lovingly and turned on her side to reach Scruff. "What do you say, Scruff?" She asked the puppy. "Want to go eat some breakfast?" She asked. The animal wagged his tail excitedly. Camila took that as a yes and threw the covers off of her legs, swinging them over the edge of the bed. She stood up and walked closer to her dog, opening her arms. "Come on, Scruff. Food is waiting." She said.
Scruff jumped off of the bed and into his owner's arms, closing his eyes happily when Camila began rubbing behind his ears. Camila grabbed Scruff's bowl from the counter and set him on the floor next to it before pouring some food for him. He got to eating right away.
While Lauren cooked for the three of them, Dinah and Camila put away the groceries and cleaned up the kitchen a bit. Dinah pat each pumpkin. "So when are we carving up these bad boys?" She asked the oldest girl.
"I'll let you know as soon as I come up with a calendar and plan everything out." Lauren answered. "We may be carving them tonight if we finish decorating." She said. "Since carving and setting out pumpkins is considered decorating for some people, we might have to do them tonight."
Dinah grinned over at Camila and nodded her head. "Hell yeah." She said in a low voice.
"I would start thinking of carving ideas just in case." Lauren said from the stove. "I'm going to need to think of one myself. Usually I prepare for things like this months in advance but I've been slacking. This is the first year I'm not home for the major holidays so I'm somewhat out of my element."
