"Stop dating that poor boy Nicole!" My mom yelled at me "I don't like him for you" her voice filled with disgust.

"But mom please I love him!" I sobbed, looking down my eyes red and puffy from crying.

"You love him?!" she yelled even louder. "What would other people say about you dating someone... who isn't wealthy?" my mom shook her head in disappointment. "What will your friends say? You'd be a laughing stock if you continue to date that indigent boy."

I could hear my friends laughing at me.

"Wake up Nicole this isn't some cliché love story!"

Knock! Knock!

"Wakey wakey eggs and bakey my Nicole" the cheerful voice of my nanny woke me up.

I sighed in relief it was just a dream. A bad dream that is.

"Breakfast in bed sweetheart" The door opened revealing my fiftyish Nanny Vicky, who could pass as my grandma. She had slight salt and pepper hair now due to her age. Nanny V has been with us since my mom was my age. She's an all-around nanny; cooks, cleans, do laundry and a love guru. "Come on now Nicole eat up you still need to shower and get ready for school" She places the tray on the table beside my bed.

I sighed. "Nanny V I already told you I'm already big enough to prepare my own breakfast" She really spoils me a lot.

"Nicole you are my baby girl and I promised your parents to take care of you while they aren't here. I also did the same to your mom." She looked at me with a warm smile. "And you are like the granddaughter I never had so just let me do my thing okay"

Nanny V didn't get married. She always says that love isn't for her. She's just happy of her job in taking care of our family like her own.

I raised my hand in surrender then move towards the table where the food tray is. "Alright fine Nanny V. I don't know what I would do without you. Thank you" I flashed a cheeky grin at her sitting down and took a bite at my double chocolate chip waffles. I moaned in pleasure it felt like heaven inside my mouth.

"Sweriously Nanny V du mwake wu bwest wahfles ewer!" I said with my mouth full

"Nicole, don't talk when your mouth is full. Where are your manners?" she playfully scolded me. "And I added extra chocolate for good luck in your first day of your senior year" Nanny V added with a wink.

I ate the last bite of my heavenly waffles and drank my mocha Frappuccino.

Happy tummy. Happy life.

"Sorry Nanny V" I say sheepishly. "Thank you for the heavenly breakfast" I kissed her cheek "I'm going to shower now."

I took a 15 minute shower afterwards I stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my slim figure and rubbed my mirror which was foggy due the hot steam when I showered.

I looked at my reflection on my mirror. I had smooth silky dark brown wavy hair, about to the middle of my back. My eyes framed by long lashes, were a bright, emerald-green and seemed to brighten the world and light tan hue to my skin.

"Okay Nicole", I said to myself. "It's the first day of your senior year everybody is expecting you to excel more in...well everything to get a great future. You have to be the best and perfect" I closed my eyes and rub my temples, breathing a heavy sigh. "Come on, your Nicole Alexandria Montenegro, Hotel Heiress of 'The Montenegro Group Hotels' you can do this. You can't let them down." I put on a brave face and a smile that is neither fake nor genuine if that even existed then walked out of the bathroom.
