Annie stood amidst the numerous amount of children playing and laughing loudly in the park. Some swung on swings, the chains creaking as they did so making it sound like they could break any minute. About 5 children spun happily on the roundabout, laughing at jokes that were long since funny. The weather has been hot recently- really hot. The Suns Ray's bleated down on the park, scorching the grass and turning it brown and crispy. Annie walked towards a nearby bench- the wood was peeling on the seats and the nails keeping it in place were sticking out and had a slight bend to them. The grass beneath her feet crunched at her every footstep, flattening as she made her way forward. She reached the bench and sat down on the edge, letting the slight breeze wash through her charcoal black hair. The children's laughs became more distant as time flew by and soon the park was silent apart from a single swing's creaks as it swayed back and forth. Everyone has gone home for tea, most likely or children were growing tired in the heat. As the sun gradually set, the original blue sky disappeared and was replaced with a murky grey. The slight breeze had turned into more of a peaceful wind. It felt good as it brushed against Annie's face. It made a change to feel the slightest bit of cool air and Annie liked it. But soon it was becoming more violent, whipping her hair in front of her face so that she couldn't even see her hand in front of her face. The clouds in the sky twisted around each other in a grey abyss, making the sky look like a tornado willing to strike anything in its path. The roundabout was spinning on its own now, an ear splitting screech echoing throughout the park. Annie struggled to push the hair out her eyes but managed too with great difficulty. There, a few paces away from her, stood a hooded figure.
A black cloak hung loosely over the figure, and another black cloth was stretched completely over its face emphasising its cheek bones. It's features were completely hidden, yet a kind of smoke seemed to be appearing from where it's mouth hole would be. The cloak draped over its body flowed in the wind and looked like it had been ripped at the ends. The dark figure floated over to Annie and reached out a blackened hand from beneath the cloak. It's fingers were long and wrinkled and its veins were almost popping out of its dark skin as if only a thin layer of skin had been stretched over the bones. It exhaled a deep breath and twisted its wrist in 180 degrees, reaching out to Annie. Everything around her went cold; frost was creeping up to the ends of each strand of grass and all life was drained out of any plants the being hovered over. She was paralysed and frozen with fear...
